Curious as to the set, Hungate, Forrest and any on-stage team-ups

So pretty close to last year, reduced to a "co-headliner" length with the addition of Georgy Porgy. I'm a bit disappointed that it's short, but if they make a bunch of new fans from Michael McDonad's audience in the U.S., hopefully we'll see more full U.S. shows.

How was Hungate?

The videos have been outstanding....rhythm section is absolutely grooving with David and Shannon...Luke has added another element to his playing as far as interplay between vocals that I really really like...his tone is better than ever....JW REALLy has gotten into fighting shape and his vocals are spot on...and that has no BOUNDRIES as to whether it's a BK tune or a JW tune...he's doing great...Paich is Paich, solid...and I do dig the Steve Porcaro synth stuff...I did really miss a lot of that years ago and now they sound so full and no needed backing tracks which is a bonus these days...and an anomaly for a band of almost 40 years still out playing and bringing it!!!!

I have close to 30 people going to the Chicago show alone...will be a party for sure...I want to be there to support Shannon and David...and all the other guys as well but this is a one off for Shannon and I don't want to miss this since he and I have talked about this for 15 years....and how cool it would be to play with Toto...and he is....damn cool...

I know I am a bit of a fan boy as far as Toto is concerned...but it's a family thing...

Hope everybody is well!!!!

Closest show is Atlanta...really want to make the trip but the co-headlining thing makes it hard to justify driving 4 hours each way just to see an elongated opening act. Hopefully they'll do some more touring after the album happens next year and they'll figure out where Nashville is.

Michael McDonald was SUPPOSED to be the original lead singer of Toto before Bobby joined so this is a cool "What If" tour. I just wish they would at least have Michael sing Hold The Line to see what it would have been like.

Dave wrote HTL on his own so the song would've been the same regardless of who the singer was, so I wanted to see what it WOULD have sounded like if Michael had recorded it like he was supposed to.

Is Toto the opener every night? Did Michael McDonald do a longer set than Toto? Or about the same?

Great night . Toto blew the other band off the stage . I almost left during the second act . It got better though so I stayed. And when Toto joined Michael I could swear Joseph got called Joseph Wilson by MM twice!!! Yikes . Great keyboard playing, whole band was on it. Still can't believe they opened definitely should have been other way around . I got real emotional during Africa, started crying , Jeff's resting place is maybe 2-3 miles just over the hill from the Greek! In the summer concerts thread it's mentioned Michael was amazing but honestly he was a huge disappointment . Closes his eyes the whole time, never looks at the crowd , his voice was very rough half the show, and his band had zero chemistry. Was like watching 7 solo artists on one stage who didn't know each other. I almost walked out, but eventually his set got better and I started enjoying it.

How was the attendance? The Greek seemed a bit big for Toto in the U.S., but I guess it's also where they've got a lot of friends in their hometown too.

I'd guess 98 percent sold out. I was in the second section and was able to move to another seat a few rows down. Packed solidly.

Nice. I saw some picks on Instagram and it looked pretty full.

Toto had to be taking the comments 20:1 over McDonald too ... the pics, the videos, the comments were all about them.

yeah - watching the videos now, he sounds really rough. I don't mind some of his stuff, but wow ... this is difficult for me

The website wasn't joking either, the Greek posted the set times and right at 729 , Shannon and Hungate were onstage , then the whole band started up right oh the dot at 730! That's Joe Bonamassa style! :)
