Is there an official DVD?

Postby SF-Dano » Fri Nov 09, 2007 7:03 am

Does anyone know if there is an official (not bootleg) live DVD of Night Ranger out. I thought I read awhile back on the MR front page that one was expected to be released. I haven't heard or seen anything since.

Just curious as I would love to add this to my music DVD collection.

From the main page.....

The Japanese are at it again! They have dusted off the vaults for another couple of re-issue gems - this time on DVD. However, other Japanese DVD releases have been touted in the past and then vanished without a trace, so be a little wary until release day.
First up - the utterly amazing concert release from Night Ranger's Midnight Madness tour of Japan - Japan Tour '83, which will be released April 16.

I wonder first off would the US Dvd players play Japanese DVDs? I know DVDs are region coded. But even so the price for this dvd would have to be real high. I have noticed bands like Damn Yankees, Dokken, and RATT getting previously released DVD in the US. Why is it Night Ranger can not get this to happen? Again Saga another of my favorite bands has 5 dvds…all available in the US. Saga hasn’t had the following that Night Ranger has. Honeymoon Suite has a dvd out. Yet no Night Ranger. Anyone know the answer behind this?

I am glad though that a dvd with the original band is going to be released. Probably would not buy one with the current lineup.

Japan and the US use the SAME "Region Code" on their DVD players.
It shoould play on your DVD player, just fine.

Japan is Region 2 - USA is Region 1.

Make sure your players can adjust. Both use NTSC picture format.

I would like to get it to. Glad it is available at least somewhere. Hope to find it for a decent price.

One thing I always found strange about this concert was that they did not play When You Close Your Eyes on the Midnight Madness Tour. Also, the following tour Seven Wishes they did not play Good-bye. I guess it was the record companies that forced them to release these two songs and Night Ranger then became to notice how great these two songs really were.

As for Call My Name, Night Ranger also played this song on later tours. I believe it is also on the Seven Wishes Tour video that came out a year or two later.
