A lot of People forgot about Night Ranger. Blades didn't help matters by going to Damn Yankees. The tracks he helped write on Arrival are my favorite though. Forget Arnel, leave him on the bus with his kid. Neal and Jon should be writing songs with this guy when they are doing shows together in September. You ain't going to see too many ballads out of Blades.

I agree, I don't care who writes them, I just want some great music on the new album.

1. "Higher Place" – 5:09 (Jack Blades/Neal Schon)
2. "All the Way" – 3:35 (N. Schon/Jonathan Cain/Michael Rhodes/Steve Augeri)
3. "Signs of Life" – 4:54 (N. Schon/J. Cain/Elizabeth Cain)
4. "All the Things" – 4:23 (N. Schon/J. Cain/Andre Pessis)
5. "Loved By You" – 4:02 (J. Cain/Tammy Hyler/Tribble)
6. "Livin' to Do" – 6:24 (N. Schon/Matt Schon/J. Cain/Tribble)
7. "World Gone Wild" – 6:00 (Blades/N. Schon/J. Cain)
8. "I Got a Reason" – 4:20 (Blades/N. Schon/J. Cain)
9. "With Your Love" – 4:25 (Schon/J. Cain/E. Cain)
10. "Lifetime of Dreams" – 5:29 (N. Schon/J. Cain/Tribble)
11. "Live and Breathe" – 5:15 (N. Schon/J. Cain/Augeri)
12. "Nothin' Comes Close" – 5:41 (N. Schon/J. Cain/Augeri)
13. "To Be Alive Again" – 4:21 (J. Cain/Augeri/Tribble/Eric Bazilian)
14. "Kiss Me Softly" – 4:47 (Blades/N. Schon/Augeri)
15. "We Will Meet Again" – 5:05 (N. Schon/Augeri/Tribble)

Well, I would call that one a Ballad. And Steve A has quite a bit of credit also.

I've been listening to a lot of Night Ranger the last few days. They know how to rock. Not too many gay ballads going on with them.

Guys, if you never seen Night Ranger.................I hate to tell you Journey is in trouble. Saw NR with Ratt and Dokken earlier this month. Every one there would admit Night Ranger kicked their butts. Honestly dudes.....Trial By Fire was the last thing Journey has done that is worth listening to.

So what are they arguing about now on the Journey board?

Here's the set they played opening up for Journey last week:

'This Boy Needs To Rock' (w/'Highway Star' interlude)
'Sing Me Away'
'Secret Of My Success'
"Coming of Age"
'Sentimental Street'
'Eddie's Coming Out Tonight'
'Four In The Morning'
'When You Close Your Eyes'
'Dont Tell Me You Love Me'
'Sister Christian'
'(You Can Still) Rock In America'

First NR show I've seen without "Rumors in the Air" or "Touch of Madness" in the set. Good show and a decent crowd reaction, especially for the last four songs or so.

I'm a little late to this party but I just saw NR 2 weeks ago. Jack Blades still brings a phenomenal energy. I loved it....but, Night Ranger does not and did not kick Journey's butts. I've seen both live and the reviews tell otherwise. That said, I have been a fan of both bands for a long time. Journey is not in trouble. They are on fire right now. Again, like I said, I like both bands but your assumptions are just assinine. Compare album sales between the two bands.

Oh come on, Jack Blades is the only one that provides energy? PLEASE. As for Journey, I will not deny Journey has more hits and have a more successful career. But I am sorry Steve Perry was a big part of Journey and their revolving singers are a joke. Their newer cds have been terrible…without Steve Perry there goes the good song writing. He was the member of the band that provided the checks and balances. The new singers are puppets. Now, I say what I say without seeing Journey in concert since Augeri. I did not say Night Ranger would steal the show…Journey’s strong catalog of hits will prevent that from totally happening, but Night Ranger is an extremely strong live band…they bring it every night. And I guaranty you that there will be MANY people walking away going WOW Night Ranger was damn good and some of those people will say they blew Journey off the stage. Will it totally happen? No. Because a majority of the people will be paying to see Journey…but Night Ranger will definitely keep Journey on their toes. I too like Journey…..well Steve Perry Journey.

He did not say Jack was the only one, but apparantly Jack is the one he noticed most. Not a snub...

RockInDetroit wrote:But I am sorry Steve Perry was a big part of Journey

True.

RockInDetroit wrote:and their revolving singers are a joke.

Partially true. The circumstances and actions are a joke. But Steve Augeri, JSS and Arnel are 'no joke' talentwise. Arguably, Steve Augeri had the weakest voice. But he is as big apart of Journey's current status as Perry was for their previous status.

RockInDetroit wrote: Their newer cds have been terrible…

Obviously that is your opinion. And while they may not have been as consistant as "classic" Journey albums, there are many shining moments IMO.

RockInDetroit wrote:without Steve Perry there goes the good song writing.

As you said, Perry was "part" of that. But Jon Cain has been the biggest contributor to songwriting since his addition.

RockInDetroit wrote:He was the member of the band that provided the checks and balances.

100% Agree!

RockInDetroit wrote: The new singers are puppets.

Again I agree. Up to this point the singers have not had enough input.

RockInDetroit wrote: Night Ranger is an extremely strong live band…they bring it every night.

Another point I agree with. At the same time I will add that Journey is equally strong live. It is not just their "hits" that make the show, they are extremely tight as well (like Night Ranger).

RockInDetroit wrote: And I guaranty you that there will be MANY people walking away going WOW Night Ranger was damn good and some of those people will say they blew Journey off the stage.

I think the people who say NR blew Journey off the stage will likely be NR fans who were there to see NR. Honestly, I think this is a great package and I think the audience will be happy all the way around.

RockInDetroit wrote:Night Ranger will definitely keep Journey on their toes.

I hope so. I love it when it gets competitive on stage. Makes for great shows. I think Journey did the same for Def Leppard a couple years ago.

RockInDetroit wrote: I too like Journey…..well Steve Perry Journey.

It is a shame you haven't been able to enjoy the band without Perry, but I respect that...

Dude, you forgot to bold "Higher Place" which, IMO, ranks up in the top 10 Journey tracks of all time
