Is Poison broken up?

Postby CarmineRose » Sun May 01, 2005 11:22 am

You guys know about Bret's new gig as a judge on Nashville Star right? He's doing a country thing now and even has a new album of country music coming out. What the hell does this mean? Does this mean Poison's done?

Poison just taking a break.

No Poison hasn't broken up. C.C. was on the Eddie Trucnk show last night (May 28th) and he said that they are taking a year off and will tour next year for their 20th year aniversary.

Wondered that myself, but it seems to me Brett's country thing is a side gig to keep his creative juices flowing.
They'll be back. Hollyweird, I thought, signified a return to form. Squeeze Box rocked.

Some rumors say that next year's Anniversary Tour will be the Farewell Tour...at least for a long while.

Brett's "country" music sounds exactly like his Poison music with different musicians.

Is this Chris Gaines in reverse??

They said the Hollyweird tour was gonna be a farewell too then went out with Vince Newil and Skid Row. Never trust it especially when dudes are only in their early 40s.

Poison updates...

Postby sandiglam » Wed Feb 08, 2006 2:04 am

A friend of mine who's a long-time friend of Rikki's says that five songs are already recorded for a new cd, and that they plan to release a new album late this year or early next year and do a full tour, followed by the release of the long-awaited box set of rarities. Apparently the rarities box is a focus, and there's a ton of stuff available for it (the band recorded 25 songs apparently just for the Hollyweird album).

I'll believe all this when I see it, but I trust that Rikki believes this to be the plan :)

Poison should have broken up after their debut album because they're nothing but third rate Aerosmith, Kiss, Van Halen clones of the worst kind. Bret is nothing but a third rate frontman below Stephen Pearcy which isn't saying too much while C. C. is one of the worst rock guitarist of all time.

Obviously you've never seen them live. Also when RATT took them out for the DU Tour, Poison blew them off the stage. RATT ended up kicking them off the tour but brought them back a month later when tickets stopped selling.

Oh Mateo, leave them alone, Bret is so delicious to look at and the music aint all that bad if you dont take it too seriously. Have tapes in my car of both poison and ratt and they get played when I'm on a long journey as I can sing along to them without a care in the world, even with other drivers giving me strange looks lol :D
Someday you'll look to see I've gone, but tomorrow may rain so I'll follow the sun

I agree, I have seen RATT and Poison and Poison is 100x better than RATT as a live act. The times I saw RATT they were either so blasted that their music was out of tune or seen them with only one guitarist....With one guitarist you lose a lot of the original sound. I think I seen RATT two or three times and were lousy each time. Poison on the other hand seen 2 times and they were excellent both times.

What is with Bret Michaels? Does the guy have anger management problems? The guy is like 45 years old now and still hasn't learned that you don't have to settle arguments with voilence. How many times have we read about Bret either getting in a fight or challenging someone to one? Grow up!

I would think Poison is threw now. Too bad for CC who has finally straightened his life around and appeared really excited about Poison.

Anyone got anymore details on the fight? Maybe a better video? What caused the fight?

Can not believe no one else here has discussed the fight? I have never seen anything like it.
