This is so much fun to listen to! I remember hearing All For Love live forever ago on a Dennis solo tour. What do you think the track order should be for this?

Also, was Beneath the Moon supposed to be re-released on Son? I know Boomchild had it, but maybe they were going to re-record it?

Track Listing that I got from the CD:

1) It Takes Love To Make
2) Nothing In Common
3) Love On My Mind
4) Watching The World Go By
5) Beneath The Moono
6) All For Love
7) Devil in Me
8) Someday We'll Fly
9) Don't Give Up On Me

Now, I did reach out to Glen about this album AGES ago (It's actually been posted somewhere on these boards where he does the song breakdown, etc). Now some have mentioned that "it's missing the JY Rocker". A memory came back to me about the Cyclorama release, and JY mentioning that he brought some songs to the Styx table during this time and Dennis reject it, I believe it was "These Are The Times". How cool would have that been if that would have been the rocker? I do know that some Glen songs ended up on JY's "Raised By Wolves" solo album. "Heaven In Your Heart" and "Love and Love Alone" I believe were the tracks.

Anyone remember JY saying that about These Are The Times?

To me it sounds like it’s just Glen and Dennis that made this demo. I read somewhere that Glen even played the drums on this. He probably played bass too. Beneath the moon is interesting because in was on Boomchild in 89 and was also part of hunchback. He was getting a lot of mileage out of that song.

I can hear JY on the DDY and Glen songs, especially Nothing In Common and All For Love.

Seems that JY started writing the song in 1995/1996

Interview from December 2002;

"“These Are the Times” is really an intervention song and what the lyrics are have kind of evolved -- what they are at this stage and what they were when Tommy and I first wrote it. When we first started working on it was seven years ago, it was more about, Tommy was heavily involved, and still is, with drug interventions, and very supportive of a lot of groups that do work in that field and I’ve been through a number of those, notably with our dearly departed first drummer John Panozzo."

Hope it stays up! There's 4 songs which have actual commercial releases so I'm not sure if they are what got it taken down or if some kind of ownership/copyright over the demos allows for it to be taken down.

I got a copy almost 5 years ago but promised the person who shared it with me that I would not pass it around or make it public.

Thanks Styxguy!

I wasn't sure, Maybe I'm getting my albums mixed up, instead of Son of Edge, maybe it was a demo for Brave New World.

Appreciate it.

I don't remember what album it was either...I was thinking an extra on "Return to Paradise". But, it could be from BNW...but, it seems Dennis did not have much control at this time. In any case, yes, Dennis rejected it. IMO, it is one of Styx' best songs post Kilroy...and probably JY's best since then...even up through today. I *LOVE* "These Are the Times". And, Dennis would not record it. For years, I used this as evidence that Dennis post Kilroy could not recognize a "great" Styx song. If he can cut a song this good, he lost the ability to recognize what made Styx "Styx". Tommy and JY going back and forth like "Snowblind", the harmonies, that killer guitar...and it just ROCKS, and incredible live. It is classic Styx to me, even if it is on Cyclorama.

The only song that I really like on this is "Watching the World Go By". That is because it is something different and it reminds me of something Tommy would have written...but it is still pure Glen. A nice song.

The rest remind of how I felt about Asia with John Payne instead of Geoffrey Downes. It's OK, in an 80's pop kinda way but nothing that really enthuses me at all. I also agree that JY is completely missing...similar to EotC, with the exception of "Homewrecker".
