I'm new to this board but I want to know what the general thoughts are on Dennis DeYoung.

I saw him last month on public tv. I think his voice sounds great. And I honestly think he's smart for not trying to tour the world any more at his age with his family responsibilities.

Bottom line: I don't blame him for leaving Styx.

What's everybody else think?

Free,
welcome to the board.

Take a few moments to read random posts over the last 6 months and you'll get a flavor where everyone here stands.

To briefly answer your questions.

I don't think anyone here blames Dennis for the split, but perceive it to be inevitable based on the structure of the band at the time.

Dennis does sound great.

And Dennis has always put his family first. So a world type of tour at this moment is improbable. Especially with both of his children getting married this year.

My guess is after his new album is done. Yuo might see him venture outside of North America, but that is only a guess. He is doing very well in Canada right now.

I wonder if somebody in Canada is ranting about how Dennis is a cheap imitation of Gowan...

;-)
