DeYoung / Burtnik Songs

There are some cover songs that I just love more than the originals, with that being said, I love the version of "We Can Work It Out" done by DeYoung/Burtnik. I just listened to it 5 more times and this one needs to be added to a cd. Just incredible. Their voices blended just beautiful!! I'm not a huge Beatles fan, but this song was so perfect for them. Not just the meaning or words, but the harmonizing with their voices.

I'm so glad that "All For Love" will be added too. I know Styx fans will not be disappointed at all. ChicagoStyx, you'll even like it!!!

How long before we get to hear it? Will it be in our lifetime? Maybe Dennis should try to get Glen to help him out on his new CD.

Wasn’t All For Love one of the songs DDY was trying to shop around to any record company that would let him in the door? If I remember correctly he was politely shown the door by all of them. Right now I don’t have any reason to believe that DDY can put out any music that I would find remotely worth listening to. I don’t want to hear show tunes or Air Supply DDY style. Prove me wrong but I say he can’t do it. I don’t need another DDY love ballad. 8)

I'm not a Beatles fan, but my gosh, this song with their voices, harmonies!!

Froy will change his tune about this cover, trust me! He'll be on the "cover" bandwagon big time.

Who's "we"?? LOL

Hey ChicagoStyx, here's the deal. We'll keep our original baseball bet, but I want to add this one. If (when) the Brewers have a better record in baseball over your team before the July 9th concert, the bet is, you have to do what I tell you to do after the DDY concert in Chicago. I won't lose, but if I do, I'll buy you dinner before the show.

I'm going to prove you wrong big time!! This isn't a ballad song, you'll see. You'll see with another song that's going to be released too. If you like the classic Styx sound, you're going to like the latter one.

Wait! You are going to the DDY concert, Chicago?????? Why the hell WHY? ???? After what you posted, I would not think you would want to be within 100 miles of that "show tunes" singer.

He was shown the door because he was asking for 1 million dollars advance money.
Roger Hodgson is being shown the same door in America as he is asking for 40 thousand dollars to play solo shows with no band,

Normally I would be at least 100 miles away but since I would have to leave the state to accomplish that plus the fact the I live less then 10 miles from DDY’s house I don’t really have a choice. Besides, it’s a free concert and I will get a free diner to boot!

Poor Dennis! All those bad vibrations coming from your direction.

Free dinner? Well, then I guess that explains your not leaving the state during this concert. :P

No - it is not a ballad. It's an up-tempo rocker. It's similar tempo to Rockin' The Paradise. Dennis sings the lead vocal on it. It has a very classic Styx sound to it. It was a definite hit at both shows.

In light of the praise this song is getting here at the forum (I consider us a good measuring stick), I'm surprised it didn't show up on Brave New World :?
