I don't think they sound awful, though Todd has stated that he had major equipment problems going on.

It is a testimony to each of them. You wouldn't know by watching it that there was any turmoil going on amongst them. I understand that Tommy did remark that it was the most emotional rendition he'd ever heard Dennis do of Come Sail Away.

It's extremely bittersweet to watch.

Yes it is bittersweet to watch, especially when Dennis flubs his part in Blue Collar Man.. Was it an accident or purposely, who knows.. but the look on JY's face IS PRICELESS!

regardless of the situation behind the scenes, little of it showed when they were on the stage together.

They were all total professionals, no question, considering the feelings that were bubbling right below the surface.

I find this performance very hard to watch.

Bugsy

Jason and anyone else, here are the old threads regarding the CMN 1999 that we talked about. I guess there's 2 types of copies floating around, one with the extra song, which I have. I think I have both.

A good place to start learning how to capture videos to the pc is here, http://www.videohelp.com.

Once on the pc then you can do whatever you like with it. The cheapest software you can use if you are using windows xp is movie maker (it is free and comes on the pc). It does a decent job captureing and the file is not huge unless you capture it in raw format. Look on this site on how to capture to movie maker, that is if you have a capture device.

Hope this helps.

It was amazing that went as well as it did considering what was going on. Todd's in-ear monitors fried right before they went on, so he played that entire set without being able to hear a single note from anyone else on stage. He was playing by rote.

Dennis knew he was out, but did the show anyway. During the two days of rehearsal he was barely speaking to anyone in the band. He was also not speaking to Gary Loizzo, so Styx tour manager George Packer was having to run back and forth from studio to audio truck to relay messages that otherwise could have been relayed by intercom, lol. Very, very tense, but they pulled it off okay. They had been rising above personal differences to create music for decades, so this was just once more, really.

I saw in the old threads that someone had old 1972 audio of Styx. Does anyone have any JC era video? JC's son Jamie is looking for that stuff. I would gladly pay whatever anyone wants to dupe audio or video from the Wooden Nickel era so I can send it to him. He does not have much of that stuff.
Thanks. I hope all is well.

So I am guessing that the bad blood wasn't just between the band members.

Only video I know of from the 72 "era" was a live video shot for Best Thing.

If I find it I'll let you know. I have it somewhere floating around!

I have the "Best Thing" footage that was filmed at the Milwaukee Lake Front in 1972. I have it on DVD now. I think it's like 100 generation, pretty grainy, but still nice to have. I've on been on the lookout for the whole footage that's been floating around somewhere here.

Yes, if the CMN show ever shows up on YouTube, please post the link here! I would love to see the showI remember seeing the set-list and being disappointed nothing from BNW was played, and it was coming out in a week or two after the performance.
