(Kathie posted this on the Yahoo groups.)

I guess he's found himself another career appearing in videos:

You know......I liked the song. Liked the sound of the group. I went to their MySpace page and their other music was good too.
Wonder what the old goat, uh, ghost has to do with them? If he is managing them, or just helping them, he has latched onto a good one.

I went to their My Space and their website too. I liked their music. They'll be coming to Milwaukee in December.

I actually thought it was a pretty cool video and being a Classic Styx fan and not putting my personal feelings in, I liked it :)

So JY's the roadie.

I liked it too. Would have thought that JY played that guitar solo though based on the way the video was going at that point.

I doubt he is managing them. But is probably working with them to get them some exposure.

Question is, how does Kathie find stuff like this. Not like it was captioned with JY of Styx.

The singer sounds like the lead singer from They Might Be Giants (and in a way looks like a young version of him) - which is kinda cool since I like They Might Be Giants. The music was OK.

This will be a situation where fans of the band will ask the band for 10 years "Who'se that guy in your video?"

Totaly agree with this point.

Here's another.

The band also has the advantage of Styx Fans being introduced to their music because they want to see what jy is doing in it and maybe some actually buy the cd.

Great move on the bands part to introduce other fans to their music.

More like 10 years from now fans will be asking JY "Who was that band you did a video with?"

If nothing else, STYX has staying power.

It was kind of freaky.

I wonder if he got paid more than he did for the VW commercial :-)

the original link isn't broken. the video was deleted by the user. i find it a bit curious that it was deleted after some person named FROY posted some disparaging comment like "awful acting" (wish i could remember his exact words). The rest of the world doesn't know about the flame wars here, and i found it to be terribly juvenile to post something like that when the Kyle Mann Combo happen to do a great job "performing" the song. I think its a GREAT video and a particularly haunting song. I think i'll probably end up buying the album. Because you have personal issues with JY doesn't mean you need to slam something he probably had very little to do with. I'm glad someone else provided another link to the song. It's also on the band's myspace page. check out the rest of their tunes there. quite impressive! :)

Personally I think JY had fun with it. I'm sure the band appreciated him doing it for them. Whether it gives them a boost, time will tell. Perhaps it's enough for them that he did it in the first place.
