Thanks to all of you guys for the well wishes.
From the bottom of my heart

I will say for you all to never take any medicine that can hurt your kidneys
Thats what I did.
I was taking Aleve for my gout and it raised my Blood Pressure to 203 over 127
Next thing I knew I was in an ambulance with a mild stroke

47 year old non smoker and drinker and Im in the hospital for 4 days.

I will say life looks much different now thats for sure.

Glad to hear you're OK, Froy! I nearly had a stroke myself when I saw Suite's post earlier today. It would be pretty boring here without you.

1st of all I wish you a speedy recovery ! That whole experience must have been frightening....

Aleve can be really bad stuff, thats for sure, it put me in the hospital for 5 days back in October 2006.....pretty much shredded my stomach to the point of internal bleeding. I've never taken once since, and I suspect you wont either.

Hang in there, and dont expect a get well card from JY anytime soon !

Yeah - Ibuprofen can really damage your kidneys and your liver - so you gotta watch that stuff. I don't take it unless I absolutely have to.

Aleve is actually Naproxen Sodium, a OTC version of the prescription drug Anaproxin. It is however an NSAID (Non Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug) like Ibuprofen and yes you can damage your kidneys and stomach from over-usage, I take it occasionally for headaches and muscle pain. It's great to hear your feeling better Mike, now don't scare us like that again. It would be very boring here without you

Glad you are back Froy (GULP......I can't believe I just said that!!) - Aleve will kill you - I prefer heroin for my gout - it doesn't have the nast side effects that Ibuprofen does (as long as you can look past those nasty needle marks) - just kidding - glad your better and like I said earlier - do what your doctor says --
