I don't care for it. Too sappy.

i actually listened to this the other day and i thought..."you know, pretty good"....but it takes a little to long for it to get somewhere......I dont know for sure what it needed but the song is lackign something that keeps it just "pretty good" instead of "great".

Hit the snooze X 3 . As boring a song as While Theres Still Time is. First Time was 10X's a better song.

Dennis was far better than this. That song killed a good Back To The World album.

Wow. Interesting takes on this song. I love it. Bluesy. Jazzy. And, of course, great vocals.

The video was really a great, moody set-piece, using the art of Edward Hopper for inspiration.

I like everything about both the song and the video.

I really thought that the song started out GREAT and then went ABSOLUTELY & COMPLETELY nowhere!! Baby, You can call me ( echo.... call me , call me .......) Only 7 numbers on the phone??? Horrible Horrible .

This Is The Time, Black Wall,Unanswered Prayers and Warning Shot were all good songs and could of been singles. Releasing the snoozer that is Call Me killed that album.

Unanswered Prayers and Black Wall are still to of my DDY favorites.

Agree! I was SOOOO DISAPPOINTED when I heard that song as the first single. I would argue that not only did it kill the BTW album, but that choice killed DDY's solo career. Top 3 things that killed his solo career...

1. Releasing Call Me the most boring song ever as the first single off a new solo album

2. Not touring to promote the Desert Moon LP (He walked away from opening for Huey Lewis and the News, who, at the time, had the biggest selling album in America with "Sports")

3. Not editing out the slow middle section of Don't Wait For Heroes and killing any potential that single had at top 40 radio.

Well, I do agree with you there, Yogi, about Unanswered Prayers and Black Wall. It took me a long time to appreciate "Prayers" though. Ditto Call Me.

I also agree that, even though I think the song and video were really good, as a single, it just did not work.

Good points. I always thought how Dennis thought he was going to have any substantial solo career without going on tour to promote his solo work. Then again he has said that he really wasn't looking to be a solo artist so maybe that is why he made some of those choices.
