To me they never have been hard rock. They rocked, but not hard. They used to have that distinctice feeling for a good portion of streetwise rock combined with great melodies.

Maybe NOTHING CAN SHAKE ME is on the edge of hard rock and there are some moments and riffs on TOO HOT TO SLEEP either.

I'm partial to The One That Really Matters! Damn that song cooks start to finish.

The song that I fully assume inspired your screen name is up there as one of the harder Survivor songs. Although, it's not the hardest of all in my opinion.

One song that immediately comes to my mind is "As soon as love finds me" from their debut, then obviously also Take you on a saturday and Children of the night.
As for Jimi stuff, Burning Bridges is hard rocking track

„Take you on a saturday“ may be a slow/mid-tempo one but its got some definitiv hard guitar & refrain parts. Love it!

Frankie ruined TYOS for me, because he's played it into the ground with those solos at every show I've attended.

As Survivor fans, we can't have nice things. I figured that out a long time ago.
