After All These Years

IMO Great tune. Has the feeling of WYLAW and Faithfully. Hopefully a Grammy Nomination. This will definately be a single.

Holy @#$%....nice vocal performance! The background music is hard to make out, but sounds a little lame. The lead vocals are extremely good though. I'm impressed.

I don't know how else to explain it but the same feeling I got when I first heard When You Love A Woman, When I think of You, and Faithfully hit me when I heard this song. Imagine how much better it will be on the album! :D

What a stunner. Wow. This brought me back.

No-one does it like these guys. When Jon and Neal find a vein, they are unparalleled in the melodic rock world.

Wish I could have made it. Just didn't have the energy.
But around town, it was well known...when they got home at night
Their fat and psychopathic wives
Would thrash them within inches of their lives!

It seems to have a bit more of a haunting feel, as opposed to the sickly-schmaltzy feel of Open Arms/When You Love a Woman--which is no bad thing. Arnel sounds really good on this, especially the lower ranges, and he is much more confident than I would have expected. It will be interesting to hear the studio version to see if they got the "magic cut" that would send this over the top. A simple organic production that lets the song breathe without over-producing it to death and sucking the life from it should sound pretty awesome. If they got the song nailed in the studio, with a little marketing push, and they might just have a chance on radio.

Arnel. Likely Deen and maybe others in the backing vocals on the bridge.

This is all Arnel. Dean sings background on Never Walk Away and Wildest Dreams.

Dan's on vacation. I stole his ID and password. 8)

Look, I can bitch and moan all I want, but the fact remains that this band could do a Flock of Seagulls tribute album and I'd still buy the fucker. I haven't missed a tour since 1981.

And so what if they're just turning BGTY sideways? It's still a monster track.

U2's best song, "Always" (a hard track to find) has the same chord progression as "Bad". But I still get goosebumps listening to it. It's not like I said, "Oh, geez, this song sounds too much like something they recorded 15 years ago, so I'm not going to like it regardless of whether or not I like it".

Keep cannibalizing, I say. I want this band to be around when Ross is in his 70's and needs a damned walker to get his ass out on stage.

I WISH there was a visual of this performance; I hope one turns up on YouTube. Meantime, I am hoping that someone will report how Neal and Jon and Ross looked while this was playing? How was Arnel's diction? On this fuzzy audio he sounded good to me... The more I hear this song, the lovelier it gets..

I'm not gonna lie Dan, when this song popped on, I looked at TIME and I swear I saw a tear from his eye, haha. Def. a song you need to really listen to the words over and over again to really appreciate what the band is trying to do with the new album.

I don't know what to think...I really like it...it immediately was striking a chord...it's pretty even if I can't make out the words...but, I'm picturing Steve Perry singing it! Arnel has the same sound & power voice of my beloved.

Dude, after PF CHangs, and after mowing Mongholian Beef and Broccoli, and then eating Rhiannon's food too, I had DEADLY gas Saturday. I wanted to nail Dan but in the race and sports book, I nailed the hot fishnetted waitress instead. Fart just slipped out of it's holding cell. I was so embarrassed I tried a deflection practice by rooting loudly for a horse, but it was a fucking replay they were showing. Argh

Don't be mistaken, Dantastic and Rip Van Sprinkle were glistening eyes from the awesomeness that was last night's show too. That's why they didn't see you toasting to them... misty eyes.

Those ushers are big losers. I know I pissed off 20-30 people getting in and out of my seat to come see you guys for all of 4 minutes... it was worth it. Dude! Dude! Your vocals were great, what are you talking about? Geeze. 8)
