So, am I to understand from reading this article that there was also a Perry faux-show scheduled for a venue in New York as well? So is there just some guy out there running this little scam where they convince promoters to send them money by dangling a little Perry carrot in front of them?? Why Perry of all people?

Let go of it, bro.

You mean the truth as YOU see it? Or as Neal, Jon and Smitty have said they saw it. They said he sounded great and did quick takes. They were lying, or being told what to say, right? Conspiracy, right?

This is what's called "Theater of the Mind." You take all of the interviews, quotes and stories that you've read and heard (yet were not there to partake in or witness first-hand) and create your own little scenario in your head. Pretty soon, you start believing in your own concocted ideas.
Not a healthy way to live.

Is that directed at me or Saint John? If me, we'll discuss it futher.
Also, I see by your user name and signature, that you're a Seinfeld fan. I'm a Seinfeld fanatic. If you want to discuss the show, I always enjoy talking to another fan that recognizes the sheer brilliance of the show.
"We were one day from sending our deposit ($2,500) when we sent out the press release announcing the show," Azus said. "We got a call a few hours later from Perry's people saying they saw it on one of the newspaper sites and they wanted to know where it came from. They said Steve had no plans to come to Hawai'i for a private concert." Lee said the primary concern from Perry is that fans know the former Journey frontman had nothing to do with the faux concerts. The deposit amount mentioned, is this just about right or too low for the stature of SP? (granted he's performing). Do you think that the bar owner should have detected this as a hoax based from the requested deposit amount? Anyone?
