I'm sure Journey offers world class health care. He'll be fine. If not, go to the tapes (short term). Tried to be live for Chicago though.
I should cock whip you {again} for that statement.World class health care?? WTF. There world class health care was to bring in Kevin and use tapes, and Puttin SteveAs mike in live and out between the taped vocals. Then give him the shaft when they couldnt get away with it, {thanks to a few alcoholics.{thanks ass Friga}Im sorry Tito, but that is a fucked idea. and will drive away again any fans {here}they have left. Its bad enough they use taped harmoney vocals. They should adjust their schedule, and not let greed dictate when and how often they play

Eric, curious... where did you get that the weight & food are non-factors? I've not run across anything like that....? Thanks

Its just what my doctor said. She said to obviously not eat things that I KNOW bother me, but its just that the little flap/valve thing doesn't work correctly when you have Acid Reflux disease. I think acid reflux gets thrown around generically when someone has chronic bad heartburn. I was 170 when I had it the worst, I'm 230 now and don't even remember the last time I've even had heartburn.

Food choice is most certainly a major factor and you can read that on virtually every website from The Mayo Clinic to Bob's Drive-Thru Abortion Clinic. "Acid" is the primary catalyst for Acid Reflux. Therefore, eating acidic foods greatly enhances the chances of a flare up. That valve can open all it wants, but if there's no acid or minimal acid when it does you're not going to feel like someone poured kerosene down your throat and lit a match.

Some common triggers are:

Spicy foods
Fried foods
Fatty foods
Tomato-based foods (e.g., pizza, pasta sauce, salsa)
Citrus fruits and juices
Onions and garlic
Chocolate
Mint flavorings
Caffeinated drinks
Alcoholic drinks
Coffee and tea (caffeinated or decaffeinated)
Soda and other carbonated drinks

Because us non-morons knew that he was kidding. Settle down, Francis. Augeri was at the Journey picnic not too long ago reminiscing and laughing with his old bandmates. He obviously doesn't have any sort of problem with his old road dogs. You're running around like a shell-shocked Vietnam veteran fighting a war that's been over for a very long time. Your inability to decipher that Tito was kidding only shows with glaring transparency that you're unable to read posts and decode someone being facetious because of this crusade you're on. At this point in time, I think you'd be better off trying to figure out Blues Clues. I hear "handy dandy notebooks" are on sale. That said, I expect Tito to rumble in here and say that he was serious...just to be a prick.

First....I and several other people had no idea he was kidding...and I challenge you to suggest any of them or myself are 'morons'. So to that statement alone, do me a favor and and go fuck yourself! thanks! ;) I've seen moronic posts by Tito here, but I'm sorry...perhaps I'm not up on things around here enough to 'tell' if he's kidding. If *I* can't decipher such a thing, imagine the lurker that reads this shit once every 2 months??? WTF?!!?!?!

Given the past history here or elsewhere, the fact that it was mentioned and not checked was bad enough to deserve a serious statement reminding people just how dangerous such idiotic talk is. Sorry, that's the way I see it. Arnel HAS to be held to the same standard that past band members were burned at the stake for. If this band even considers such a course of action...well, I'm not even going to go there....but lets just say, I stand ready to hold each and everyone here to the same standards they held Augeri. Again, no double standard......and I don't care if Tito was joking or not....I (and several others) weren't laughing...

The fact that it was ignored shows that the level of intelligence of the board has increased exponentially with the departure of a handful of morons, and that facetetious or baited posts will simply go ignored and filter into oblivion...where they belong.

as far as what you can eat... you ever tried to eat "Healthy"? It ain't easy. There's NutraSweet in everything, there's sugar in everything, there's caffeine in everything. I FINALLY got off of soda. I was a diet soda freak and the caffeine and nutrasweet just gave me the worst headaches. Well, so then you go to "juice". It's all sugar. Then if you try and go out for dinner, it's all fat and msg... holy crap, the only way you can eat right is to grow everything yourself.

Sorry to derail, this has been a topic with my wife and I lately.

Bry, I was the same way, used to drink the diet sodas with aspartane or whatever it's called and got headaches too. I have switched to "diet rite" sodas. They have splenda instead.......no headaches. I've tried the cola and it's good.

Just kiddin'. Actually, Michael's a helluva singer.

Where's the surprise? I'm not anti-Arnel... I wasn't origianlly all that wild about the idea of him with Journey, but that's got nothing to do with this. The guy is sick. If gets better, great, if not, well holy shit that sucks, but all the Perry shit is just stupid. Perry can't be touched. He made Journey, he gave his absolute best, but his time with Journey is all in the history books now... none of us would even be on this board without all he brought to the band.

Bitching about his isolated vocals from a 22 year old recording session and attempting to compare it to a guy who is struggling with a health situation is just lame.

And George Michael IS a helluva singer, thank you, but my Wham!atar is there simply because its funny and that Wham Rap video that was posted yesterday cracked me the hell up.

Yeah, I've done this stuff too and the Atkins deal...(which is a big proponent of Splenda) after Atkins, I gained my weight back and more (not that I'm fat, I'm 5' 9" and 168, but still, at 45, I don't want to look like Chris Farley). The carbonation also isn't good for my voice, so I just got off of all of it. I had my first soda yesterday in a month and a half. I had to play the night before till two then go to work at 7 am. And when I arrived, I had a nice.... luscious... seductive... emerald...

FRIGGIN' MOUNTAIN DEW!!!

LOL, Mountain Dew also has the highest level of caffeine of the sodas........has more than coke or pepsi.

I'm not much of a soda drinker......maybe 3 or 4 a week, trying to drink more water. So I could probably give up soda.......LOL but try grabbing that first morning coffee from me and you'll back away with only a stub.

I think I'm addicted to Starbucks now... and I HATE Starbucks. I like REAL coffee shop coffee. But ugh, it used to be every once in a while. Now I leave work almost every morning around 10 for a white chocolate mocha, or pumpkin spice latte, or whatever I'm craving. And then usually have one (or two) after work as well.

But I rarely drink any pop!

But it tastes the best! Pepsi and Coke- ever notice there's like a weird moldy taste to some of it? You notice it more with the diet. Yeah, can't do coffee. And what Saint John says is true. Diet Pop DOES slow metabolism, f's up your brain function (thank you nutrasweet) and makes you put more weight on. I drink water too, but I can only handle so much before I need something that has a taste to it. Beer- never could stand it. Probably just as well.

True, on the diet sodas, ya always feel like ya want something sweet after drinking one. I don't find that with the Diet Rite cola though, must be the splenda, it's a derivitive of sugar.......but no calories.

Never acquired a taste for beer, ya I know......hard to believe coming from a country with some of the best beer. )........always thought it tasted like runny bread dough. I like vodka based drinks though.
