It seems that many want to be considered a loon but forget it. It's all or nothing. Complete loyalty! No "I love him but...."
:?

Um no, I'm thinking those are the ones that probably scare him a bit.

:? So what category does a Martinized Sotomized Loon (or is it "Spoon" now? ) fit into?!

 You were sotomized at the dry cleaners? OUCH doesn't that hurt?
  Sorry, I read it wrong...sorry

You should come up with a better word for that. Misreads as "sodomized" very easily!

     Gawd you people! Here, grab my hand and let me pull you up out of that there gutter.

Sorry Deb, I have had a hard day with some difficult students and I had my glasses off..............I went........huh???????? And could not resist.............

Truth be told your a loon too. No one has the right to judge others on if they are loons are not. A fan is a loon. If you love pics of him, love his voice, collect memorabilia of his, I think that is a pretty good sign. And who knows what is loondom? We all vary like personalities do..............

You are so funny girl......I laughed out loud on that one! Thank you it has been an awful day. The boy who lost his mom came in today, and he looked so lost. It has been a hard couple of weeks and you guys humor and kindness has made it so much easier to go in each day and do what is needed to be done.

Deb I think the world of ya! :D

Right back at ya Ginger and sorry you had such a rough day......big hugz! LOL, I should have picked up on that myself, usually have a pretty good built-in spellcheck for dirty words.

I am glad you didn't, I was on the verge of tears, and I read that and laughed instead...........God bless you woman......! :D :D

Tito, Rhiannon and BJG were there with me when saw him a few months ago. I offered him $20 for a drumstick and he said he couldn't take it, but if I bought a $20 CD he'd give it to me for nothing. So I did. May have helped that I'm a foot taller than him and I was blind drunk. He actually looked pretty scared.  I'm an ugly motherfucker so I know I tend to have that effect on people. In all seriousness, though, he was really cool that night.

Yup, Smitty was 100% class that night. Considering the 4 glazed-over goobers repeatedly asking for him to sign stuff. Well, except Tito, he was too shy so I had Steve sign his swag. Great night, even better drumming. Nice guy. A+

Perfect example of catching someone on the right day/wrong day. Every nice guy has days when they're arseholes, every dickhead has days when they're nice, just depends which day you catch someone on.
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

I've met Mr. Smith on two occasions and I'll just say that the mere mention of "Steve Perry" seemed to put him in a foul mood. The eye rolling was pretty tell-tale as well. Here's another odd occurrence. When Tito and I went to see Jim Peterik's World Stage this year we were standing in line to meet Jimi Jamison and Rik Emmett when David Pack came over. I'm not sure what we were talking about but someone mentioned Perry's name and Pack got up and immediately left, never to be seen again for the rest of the night. Coincidence? Perhaps, but I was recently told that they have some minor feud going on. Whether or not that's true I have no idea, but I've talked to quite a few famous musicians over the last decade or two and, aside from his voice, the compliments have been few and far between when people talk about Perry.

The eye-rolling was probably more Journey related, rather than just for Perry. I've asked him questions as well. The last one was about his playing on Sandcastles from Dream After Dream and the quick, but polite response he gave to me was "the Journey stuff was so long ago, I can't even remember most of it...." I then asked him a question about a more recent project and he gave me a 5 minute conversation on it. The guy has moved on so long a go from that band, yet still has to hear about it all the time. Think of it this way...if you did something 20 years ago...anything...and to this day, no matter what you do people say to you "hey remember that time 20 years ago...."

I think that makes a lot of sense. He's excited about what he's doing now and upcoming projects, why would he want to rehash something he did years ago? Plus with all the drama surrounding the band, why would he want to discuss all that again? Can you imagine how many times the poor guy gets asked the same questions? He probably thinks we should all just get a life.
