Now what kind of choice is that - outrageous flirt or ugly rubber shoes? Image

I'm a self-confessed member of Tim's Gator-Tails, so I'll pass on the Crocs (besides which, Tim's never tried to bite my leg!)

Should the Wombat replace the Kangaroo and the Emu on the Australian coat of arms? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Australian_Coat_of_Arms.png
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

It's usually stated that it's because they are a) the largest animals in the country and b) uniquely Australian, not found anywhere else. But if memory serves, the first design to use the Kangaroo and Emu as supporters was a flag made from someone's wedding dress to commemorate the Battle of Trafalgar, and that design has inspired all the ones to follow. No idea why the Battle of Trafalgar has any connection to Australia though!

As far as I can remember, I was told that they are on the COA because they are the two animals that CANNOT walk backwards.....

Who's Tim? Image

The Gator-Tails got started as a joke in some thread ages ago that was talking about the various catergories of fans here - Loons, Spoons, Wigglers, etc, and Gator-Tails came up as those that enjoy ScarabGator's flirtatious ways. He's got quite a fan club, y'know! Check out all the women who jumped to his defence a week or so ago when someone was trying to take him down.

I've heard that, and I believe it's a retroactive application given during WW1, but it sounds cool. Certainly the Defence Forces use it!

BUT! Should they be replaced by wombats?
