Yes...and Toto, Chicago, Bon Jovi, Boston and Foreigner are well-known here too.

In fact, the only other big American AOR band who would get blank looks if you mentioned them in the UK are... Styx. But that's fine by me! That group is embarassingly bad. :) But even THEY had a Top Ten hit here (with "Babe") whereas Journey hasn't ever had a hit single here.

Here's another bizarre fact re: which US bands 'travel' to the UK and which don't. It wasn't until 1987 - and the release of "Crazy, Crazy Nights" - that KISS became well-known here. During their make-up days they enjoyed virtually no success or fame in the UK. When I was a kid and went on and on about KISS people just said...who?
