I definitely agree with you Dave  Udo has a very distinctive sound, and I've always enjoyed their music.

Such a great song, JR. Possibly my favourite Thin Lizzy track...

Definitely mine, too.

About your KISS avatar: it's one of my all-time favorites. I don't know if a filter was used or if some other lab development trick was used but I love the stark, grey overtones. It has such a haunting effect.

I just saw the movie "O, Brother Where Art Thou" - WHOA! A SUPER movie! I believe it's the first movie to ever be entirely digitally enhanced. They used digital effects to produce a dusty, dry old photo effect that results in a similar haunting effect like the KISS photo. You've GOT to see this movie.

I took a shot of the "FREE" stamp in Cleveland years ago in the middle of a snowy Cleveland afternoon and got the effect naturally.

Fyre - it's my favourite KISS photo too - although the Empire state Building shot comes close. I love the idea of KISS hanging around outside the Houses of Parliament of all places. KISS were completely unknown the the UK when that shot was taken ('75 or '76 I think) so god knows what the passers-by made of them.

I'm not sure if it's been digitally enhanced or if it's a screenprint. I used to have this photo framed on my bathroom wall (although this did feel like I was disrespecting Gene and Paul so I moved it to the corridor outside....and I'm sure that was more than you wanted to know)...and it was a straightforward black and white print back then.

I know exactly what you mean about O Brother Where Are Thou? It had that same colour quality which manages to look faded and enhanced at the same time. I actually wasn't a fan of the movie itself - even though I love so many Cohen brothers movies - but the music was great.

I was going to say that my second favorite shot is the Empire State building one, too!

Thanks for the notes about your bathroom decor. I'm sure KISS appreciates your efforts, too although I can't imagine they'd be offended considering their song "Ladie's Room". Of course it contains lyrics of a different subject matter.

The music in O Brother is stellar.

 So true! No-one comes close to Udo Dirkschneider in the ugly stakes. But Accept were an amazing band....I saw them in 1984 at a festival and they blew everyone away...making Van Halen in particular look like a bunch of poofters.

I think they've got back together again - surely a mistake - but here they were in 1985....with some truly grotesque camera angles on Mr Dirkschneider. This isn't as classic as Balls To The Wall but it's still one of my favourite Accept tracks...

Great song. Karen Carpenter had a great voice.

Here's a relatively unknown but kick-ass tune by Priest...
