Fact Finder wrote:Courtney Hazlett over at MSNBC's "The Scoop" is reporting that thousands of "Us Weekly" subscribers have not only called the magazine to cancel their subscriptions -- some reports say up to 10,000 cancellations have occurred -- but have also contacted advertisers and expressed their outrage that they are advertising with the celebrity news magazine that would so blatantly try to destroy Governor Palin.

Hazlett is hearing that the editorial board of "Us Weekly" had thought they pegged it right that media pressure and attacks would see Palin pulled from the McCain ticket even before her debut speech. Because the media had so quickly swarmed to destroy her, they thought she was toast before she even had the chance to accept the nomination.

“When Us went to print Monday night, it looked like the ticket was falling apart," says one magazine editor. “They went to print thinking Palin was dead in the water, and their mistake was thinking everyone who reads Us is a Democrat, when they’re not. Readers are loyal, but the base of a political party is more loyal. They don’t need to read the magazine when there’s so much press around it to know to be upset.”

Reports vary that from 3,000 to 10,000 subscribers have canceled their subscriptions to the gossip mag scaring the pants off of the magazine industry. In a time when sales and advertising are both down, the magazine industry does not need this sort of imbroglio, for sure. Hazlett also reports that these many thousands of cancellations came before the attacks on Palin in "Us Weekly" were even printed and distributed.

Five thousand might not seem like a large number at first glance, but it’s significant in the context of Us’ printing schedule. The magazine goes to press Monday night, which means subscribers don’t receive their issues until Friday or Saturday. In other words, the cancellations are coming from subscribers who, in many cases, haven’t even gotten their hands on the actual issue.

This speaks to the arrogance of the left leaning media establishment. They were so darn sure that they could successfully destroy Sarah Palin that they counted their chickens before they were hatched. They assumed that by the time they printed and shipped their magazine, they would have succeeded in forcing McCain to boot her from the ticket.

They didn't know how tough Sarah Palin really was, nor how outraged their readership would be.

To appropriate a saying, arrogance goeth before the fall. And "Us Weekly" just took a tumble.

Yet from another online news site...

"The factually inaccurate and exaggerated speech bashing Barack from the lipstick wearing pit bull delivered at the RNC convention on Wednesday inspired 130,000 donors to give money to the Obama campaign.

To the tune of $8 million in 24 hours!!!!!

Wowsers!

Who would've guessed that Sarah Palin would be such a great Obama fundraiser????

An Obama campaign rep said they were on track to make $10 million by the time John McCain took the stage Thursday night.

Wonder how the fundraising is going for the GOP these days?!"

Yeah and evidently the McCain camp and the RND pulled in $10 million within 24 hours of her being ANNOUNCED.

I will have to find a page for it...it was on the scroll on MSNBC.

Nope...$10 million it is...

Palin instantly appealed to contributors. McCain's once lackluster fundraising jumped by $10 million in the days after he picked her. Now, as she faced a torrent of questions about her background, her convention speech galvanized conservatives even more.

I believe that was long before the campaign or his decision to run for president. It was taken several years ago. I remember watching that show.

Since Us magazine is primarily read by airheads, wingnuts and other assorted wierdos and losers I am not surprised they assumed most of their readers were Democrats.

Oprah lost my interest a few years back, I'm so over her. I can't stand Dr. Phil nor the Rachel Ray show that she also owns,
her stupid XM shows, etc....
this just cinches it up.....DONE!

Palin is fresh and new and Obama is stale at this point and says nothing....
I don't love everything she stands for, but she seems like she is ready to take it on...
Obama and Biden look like beggars.

You are going to see more and more entertainers/media/etc start pulling out the nasties when it comes to Palin. She is clearly seen as a threat among the liberal elite. God forbid someone steal B. Hussein Obama's thunder.

Sad thing, is the Opus Winifrus aide was/is right. The more they pull this bullshit, the more liberal's will lose at the polls.

McCain outsmarted the libs on this one. The only way to attack Palin is for B.Hussein Obama to beg Hillary to join the fight. If she does, the Republicans will have a FIELD day. Hussein's painted into a corner and he's fucking scared.

When you say beg Hillary to join, what exactly do you mean? Are you saying that Obama may reconsider Hillary as his VP choice? I was wondering this exact thing, but also if Obama were to make that type of change after already announcing his VP choice, would making that change this late in the game fuck him up?

When McCain announced Palin as his VP choice, first thing that came to mind was Obama and the time when Hillary was wanting Obama to choose her as his VP. McCain's choice of Palin must have jolted the Obama camp and Hillary. I'm pretty sure if Obama would have known Palin would be in the picture, he would have taken Hillary up on her offer.

No, Biden would have to die or something before that happens. I think what is meant is that Hilary Should take an active rule at the front of the battle campaigning for Obama. She did what what she was supposed to do at the convention but that didn't exactly sway the large percentage of her supporters that don't want to vote for Obama.

Even if he'd picked Hilary, no gain there. The only female pick as VP that would've given him an edge would be Caroline Kennedy (don't even know if she has the qualifications).

Obama's mistake was not finding out about Palin early enough.

No, you guys are missing my point...I might not have made it clear enough.
..
B. Hussein Obama will likely seek Billary for campaign assistance (not a VP spot) as a mouthpiece for attacking Palin. If B.Hussein has Hillary attacking Palin in speaking engagements that Hillary would do on behalf of B.Hussein....B.Hussein could attack Palin without the collateral damage of being labeled as sexist douchebag...something he (and the cuntrag media that is being a political advocate for B.Hussein) is currently guilty of....

Maybe she'll go to bat for Obie but I think she's enjoying this debacle. Might even see it as an advantage if she wants to run again.

Anyway, Obie's in for a fight. There's always the possibility Biden will withdraw his acceptance and let Obie pick again. Doubt it though.

Obama should have picked Hillary and I hope she tells them= no if they ask her to
do stuff, but being that she wants a spot on the Supreme Court she probably will do anything they say...

Here she spends all that money and her entire life works to rise to the top and Palin swoops in as a fresh little bird....

I don't like Hilary but you're spot on here. Obie could've brought all the Dem support together by offering it to her. Bonus, Bill would've been out there stumping for them day and night.

Gotta love how the schools of GOP piranhas, who previously could dream of nothing better than a Hillary Clinton candidacy, are now in mutual agreement over what a powerful and indestructible foe she would've made.
That kind of talk may stoke the dying embers of a few Hillary grudge carriers (and potential McCain crossovers), but it has no basis in political reality.
The merciless crosshairs of the Republican smear machine do not discriminate.
The plan to destroy John Kerry was initially written with Howard Dean in mind.
They changed a line or two, and went about decanting the man’s soul from the anus-out with lightning like proficiency.

No takers on your enticing Craigslist scat-munching personal?

It’s already been leaked that McCain’s newly adopted strategy to win is “blame the media.”
True to form, you’ve lept to attention and unblinkingly carried out the campaign's subliminal marching orders.

Good boy.
Now roll over and lick the chunky peanut butter off McCain’s wizened graybushed cumspigot.
