This is almost haunting... it's like Neal in a time machine. Kid looks and plays a LOT like his old man.

He does look a lot like Neal and has a great sound, but nothing compares to Neal. It is like Neal's whole body and soul is connected to the guitar when he plays. It's just an extension of Neal. But at 20, very talented. Great name, Miles Schon. I bet Neal came up with the name Miles.

I have to agree here.....Neal's guitar strings sound like they are connected directly to his heart!!!
However, this is a talented young man!!!

I remember the old JForce photos of him as a toddler. He was such a hansome child. He still is! I think he is doing fine. Does remind me of his dad in that headband and tie dye stuff. He was named after a famous Blues player. Not suprising.

I'm telling ya, the next super group could easily be "Legacy" - Miles Schon, Wolfgang VanHalen, & Nick Simmons.
(Not sure who the drummer should be.)

Yes! Miles sat in on the first few songs with Frank's band, and the guitarist's name was Steve. GREAT stuff, and Miles really shone in his solos. Many of the clips don't really show him going off, and the kid is incredible... tons of feeling and soul. Very much a style and sound of his own, but you can see Neal's influence shine thru quite often. Later on, I sang "Alone Again" with the band, and was really touched that Frank and the guys actually spent time learning the song well enough that we could pull it off.

FUNNY story there... At the concert the night before, I saw this kid a few seats over from me wearing a tie-died t-shirt, headband, and curly blond hair just rocking out to Journey's songs and I commented to someone that it was strange... he looked like a young, blond Neal Schon. Well.... turns out it was MILES! And Neal's mom and step dad were right there as well!

I'm a Brit; couldn't you tell from my accent?

Actually, the US site was down the day I created my account, so I automatically got kicked to the UK site.

Yes, you missed it when hundreds of Frank's neighbors crashed the party asking about Dokken after the song... LOL! Seriously, the coolness of that first pic didn't hit me until I looked at it on my camera. I hadn't really paid attention to it before, and Frank's background really gave a cool effect (I think he told me later a friend of his actually made those tie-dies)! Maybe Miles would like one for his MySpace page.

And also a really nice guy to random strangers on the phone... even when the first words shat out of their mouth were "Are you as good as your Dad yet?"  A humble, "Not yet, but I'm trying." response. Thanks again Rip for the party via phone. Sounded like an incredible time going down there. :)
