Arnel sounds very little like Perry. A problem in the long run.

That sucked. Anyway...

My thoughts as well. In fact, I think he was trying not to do them, hence the over use of the reach out grab move he kept doing.

Jon did use Hugo and his band in Abu Dhabi or wherever it was

Does anyone else consider maybe they just wanted to do something fun and special for Journey’s final Japan appearances?

I already told him this in the thread.

I didn't watch Faithfully yet but the enthusiasm during KOR is palpable. Everybody is having fun and Hugo sounds good.

Is this possibly a soft launch and Hugo will finish the final leg of the tour stateside?

What manner of cringeworthy, dystopian, straw-clutching is this??

Is this some sort of cringy view of what the band WOULD have looked like had the stone not been cracked? Is the band just going full-on fakery with lip-synching & now a Perry body double? This is getting weird.

The stone wasn't cracked when Perry left. They removed a flaw in the stone that was causing the band to not be able to tour.

However, they fired Steve Smith and Ross Valory. They fired all management. They all sued each other. Nightmare dissolved. Herbie died. Now Jonathan and Arnel are (possibly) leaving after this tour.

That is not "cracking" the stone. That is taking a sledgehammer to it, over and over again, until there is only one pebble left. The name of that pebble is Neal Schon, not Journey.

This is what I posted earlier this year:

Interesting...if you go here: https://bizfileonline.sos.ca.gov/search/business
and search for: Nightmare Productions, Inc.

You can see that since the lawsuit(s) the incorporation for Nightmare has fallen behind in their filings and/or fees and/or taxes and their corporate status is actually suspended. If you look through the history of documents, the last couple updates show Neal as Chief Executive Officer, Secretary, Chief Financial Officer. And, Jonathan as VP...and nobody else listed. Hmmm, who is President? LOL So, I guess they own NIghtmare now but Neal and his lawyers are incompetent and do not know how to keep Nightmare's "shit" up to date? Or, maybe they just don't care. Or, maybe they are still fighting over stuff...who knows. But, from what I read, Nightmare is sort of a dead company right now.

This is what the corporate status means:

A "suspended FTB" status means the California Franchise Tax Board has suspended a business entity's power, rights, and privileges, usually for failing to file tax returns, pay taxes, or submit required filings. This status prevents the business from operating legally, selling property, or filing lawsuits in California.

------------------------------------------------

Oh, and back a number of years ago there was the craziness of Neal filing for trademarks of a bunch of song titles. Then Perry filed a complaint that he couldn't do that because of the agreement with Perry when he left the band, and Neal and Jonathan sold the rights to those songs. But, I also found out that you can't trademark song or album titles anyway. A simple Google search will tell you that. This band became so dumb over the last 15yrs or so. Seriously.

Perry withdrew the complaint in 2022. Neal made it seem like a victory and said it was "time to talk " He's still waiting.

I'll be honest. I'm writing a novel. I had the idea of using song titles as chapter titles. So, I asked the editor I want to use if this was OK. She told me it was fine. She even had a recent client do this exact thing. She said song titles and album titles can not be copyrighted or trademarked. I decided against doing this because I thought seemed a bit cliche and silly.

So, it is an industry professional telling me this...not just looking stuff up on the internet.

I understand...dissolved is probably not the right word. Defunct? I don't know. The bottom line is Nightmare no long has a valid license to do business.

I'm not doubting you, but why would Perry go so far as to file a petition to cancel Neal's trademark registration attempts? Because it involved the titles on merchandise?
