No fucking way Rivers rides the pine for this one...

From the glimpse of SportsCenter I saw last night...looks like Rivers and Gates are out. Correct me if I'm wrong on this. Like I said...it was a glimpse.

Twice in two years the dude has choked when it matters most. He's gonna end up with a reputation just like McFlaab as a guy who can't seal the deal.

Well, at least McPhatfuck got to the big game, and won a few playoff games in his career. Romo is so overrated.

Honestly it's too soon to know if Romo's overrated or not. McNabb has been in the league alot longer to judge.

He has not done enough to get the attention he does. Yeah, he is a Dallas QB (a glamour position) with a celebrity girlfriend. However...

Romo's career record is 22-12, including the playoffs. That's a good mark—but it's only good when looked at on the surface.

Romo's record in the months of September, October, and November: 18-5.

Romo's record in the months of December and January: 4-6 (not including the last game of this regular season, which Romo didn't finish).

Romo's passer rating in December in 2006: 77. The mark was 70.3 in December '07, and was capped by a 64.7 in yesterday's loss to the Giants.

To me, the attention he has received makes him over rated.

Tony Romo gets it. He is a good kid, and conducts himself well. He takes responsibility and owns up to mistakes. The Seattle game last year could have happened to anyone. I still wonder why the Hell he was holding for PAT's anyway. I loathe Dallas and my buddy Drew Bledsoe lost his job to Romo, but Drew has since told me, that Tony is a winner and will get a ring or two. So he is plucking J Simpson? Big deal. More power to him.

i dont know if you really know Drew B. or not. .. but i thought he was great ,, and tried hard,, and did all he could do .. he trained with Romo everyday ..

saying all that .. Pam Olliver trashed Drew B. every chance she had trying to make a name for herself 2 years ago.. i got sick of her,, she is the worst part of Sunday night football.. shes mouthy in her interviews..

The reason Romo was holding for PAT's is quite simple. He was the backup QB when the season began, and backup QB's almost always hold for PAT's. I don't believe Romo supplanted Drew as the starter until about game 10 last season. Most coaches simply don't want to fuck with the guy who is holding halfway thorough the season. Kickers have VERY fragile psyches , and coaches don't want to screw with anything that might result in missed kicks that lose games!

Anybody see the forecast for tomorrows games. Looks like the temp in the GB/NY game is going to be single digits with wind chills below zero. The NE/SD game is supposed to be in the low 20s with wind chills near single digits. Now THIS is football weather. 8)

I definitely agree that Romo garners FAR more attention than his resume should warrant! The reality is that the guy hasn't been a starting QB in the NFL for even a year and a half yet, and has not done well, in either playoff appearance. Unless your name is Dan Marino, QB's in the NFL are always ultimately judged by their win/loss record, playoff performances, and rings!

Most football historians rank Joe Montana ahead of Dan Marino, and if you actually look at the numbers, Marino's numbers are soooooo far ahead of Montana's that it's almost ridiculous! At the end of the day, all the yards and touchdowns under the sun don't make a bit of difference if you have a reputation of not being able to win, when it actually counts!

I honestly wouldn't expect the temperatures to be much warmer in Green Bay and Foxboro on January 20th! These are two very cold places, and Green Bay is cold in October! I think the fans in Green Bay are going to have the toughest time. I heard the kickoff temperature is supposed to be about 0, and those are pretty rough temperatures to be outside in for 3 hours! They better all get themselves liquored up, to dull the pain!

It's presently -13 degrees in Green Bay, with a wind chill of 33 degrees below zero! HOLY FUCK! Can you say "Ice Bowl" , all over again!

I don't think there is any snow in the forecast. As someone who grew up in a cold and snowy climate, I can tell you that you don't usually ever see snow, when it's quite this cold. It sounds goofy to say, but it's actually too fucking cold to snow!

Exactly. Snow clouds insulate. To really have cold, you need a clear sky. (I know it says San Diego, but I spent 28 years in WI.)
