Even if McCain had no "serious problems", he would still be too old to join either government organization you cited! If you want to call it age discrimination, so be it. I have no problem discriminating against a guy who I believe is too old to be president. Having said that, the argument for McCain being president would be one Ronald Reagan, who was only two years younger than McCain when he took office. I think it's a non-issue, because at this point, I have a better shot being elected than McCain does!

True...but discrimination of ANY type is not cool. You know it too. It would be no differnt than saying Obama shouldn't be President because he is black. It is an inane comment to say that age, gender, race, or sexual preference should matter in qualification for a job, any job, even President.
Associations with a terrorist however, I think they do matter, so does the government.
You are right about you having a better shot than McCain though.
