Unfortunately I am now out of money, starting my next semester in five weeks and I actually have a job, too.

Managed to get to a NASCAR race and meet Dale Jarrett this summer, Kasey Kahne is on my radar for next year.

I'm curious what the difference would be between an Journey album fronted by Soto and a Soul Sirkus album. Is Cain the missing ingredient? Has he now become the most integral part of the Journey sound?

SS was not supposed to Journey ll, sadly no ones heard my Perry 'impersonations' which I used to blow people away with decades ago in my 20's (most of it came from his & my love for Sam Cooke actually). I put 'that' voice on the shelf as not to be another 'one' of those singers that popped up everywhere once Journey blew up, there were so many Perry soundalikes (well, not really, there was only really ever one!) so as to concentrate on finding my own voice. It was fun singing those songs 'in' the band but there was no way I would try to do the soundalike thing with Journey, I respected the songs & the melodies by hitting the following the print Perry left on them.

Neal told me from day one he doesn't want the SS sound to compare to Journey, he wanted something more rock, more tough & beefier....which we did.

Why do you think SS never caught on? That was one of the best sounding albums I've ever heard. I still listen to that CD on a regular basis. About the only thing I can think of is lack of promotion. Because the quality of the music was there for it to go far. I heard rumors that Neal invested a shitload of his own money into that project because he had visions of it becoming a legitimate second band for him. He personally told me he wanted it to be more than just a side project. But it never really took off. In my opinion, it really should have.

Earlier in the thread B stated that Tito wouldn't post an answer to my question (over the weekend) because SJ was out of town,(including some not so nice things). Tito is stating that he very rarely posts over the weekend or in the evening~possibly insinuating he has better things to do, not sure????? It could be indicative of NO LIFE LOSER .....I read it as a response to the statement B made Sunday. I'm not sure what the membership time-frame has to do with anything and that's the part I didn't focus on(I should have paid better attention), Hey Tito...?????? But he is DEFINITELY insulting B for his taste in music! (this is the part that I really didn't care for)!!!
None the less Tito is calling B a NO LIFE LOSER which allows B the freedom to spend nights and weekends here. He is calling him simply a LOSER for his taste in music!! Personally, I think with a job, a wife, two children, friends and other family members...B's life is pretty full!!! I ignore that crap because I like B, he seems like a good guy!!!! I'm also pretty sure that SJ is not Tito's girlfriend or vice versa and that Tito can post without SJ waiting in the wings ready to spit fire at anyone who disagrees, so I ignore that crap, because I like SJ and his girlfriend. Hi all,

Since i don't post too much on here can i ask what dealings with the music business people here have beyond fan-status?
Notably people like 'St John' and 'Tito' who are making some pretty bold statements..

I know the internet seems to be the avenue where people 'vent their spleens' and the term 'keyboard warriors' seems no more relevant than on this thread but please guys have a little respect for those who were directly involved in the things you so venomously debate..

Opinion is great but from a casual observer there seems to be a good few who have more insider knowledge than those who lived it.....


Back to the original post, JSS seems to have been very clear on his tenure with Journey and how he left transpired. Now i dont know if Neal Schon has been misquoted or what but there seems to be a whole lot of variation going on between his own stories.

Wow! After skimming this thread, may I offer a few of my own opinions?.
1. Neal Schon is a whiny little bitch that I have lost ALL respect for. I guess if you get paid well, you should shut up and do what you are told and not question the corporation like a good little employee. He has lost all sight of what being a band is all about. Journey is no more a band than I am a great guitarist. It is a business and nothing more. There can't be any sense of cameraderie within the organization, no sense of actually being part of a group. Just a bunch of suits and their employees.
2. Arnel is a great singer and does a very good job at emulating Steve Perry. But I will never see him or JourneyCo live again. I'll be damned if I ever put any more money into Neal Schon's pocket. Note to Arnel. Watch your back, dude!
3. Revelation is an average album that seems to be highly overated by the JourneyCo sycophants. The first three songs are catchy. But after that is all starts to sound the same.
2. Jeff Scott Soto is still the classiest guy in the business. I look forward to his new release and definitly would pay to see him live. The guy is living proof that there is more to being successful than album sales. I would be in a band with him any day of the week.
