Based on what i've heard so far, I have to have this new music. I've listened to all four videos and i'm lovin' it. I know the quality isn't the best with these videos but they're good enough to give me a general idea of each song and if it's good or not. Well from what i've heard this is going to be a winner from the door... "Yes Neal! you've done it." My personal favorite so far is Human Feel ( Rise Up) it has a strong hard rocking hook and the lyrics are deep with a hauntingly emotional feel that just catches the attention from the door the next is Edge Of The Moment, Chain Of Love, then last but not least City Of Hope. I must say that Arnel has earned his proper respect as the frontman of Journey. Neal finally has his Band back It's what he wanted it's what he deserves.. to live his dream the way he has wanted to for so long. With much respect my brother from a Journey fan past, present and future.

I didn't see any mention of Cain falling down when his tech removed his chair withut Jon knowing it. Did he hurt his hand? Any one know?

Kind of trivial, really. What's Perry doing tonight, stroking his kittens or counting his money, now that Journey is touring again?

I guess it must not have been that trivial, seeing as it was being talked about. What's Perry got to do with this? Just because he didn't blow all his money on coke and need to tour all of his life has nothing to do with whether Cain hurt his hand or not.

I agree. I dismissed this song yesterday. And after listening to Fabbest's video, I realized there is really something to this song. I wish the album was coming out sooner so I could really hear these songs.

Love that riff, and it really helps set the mood for the song.

Eclipse sounds like the record that should have followed Frontiers.

Before the flamethrowers come out, consider how dark, moody and progressive many of the songs on Frontiers were: Separate Ways, Send Her My Love, Troubled Child, Edge of the Blade, Rubicon.

So far, I'm loving Resonate and like a lot of Edge of the Moment. This sounds like it could be the album they should have released in 1985. Perhaps they should have named it Freedom.

How'd I miss this?... Human Feel is still holding top place for now but Resonate is now a strong second it's breathing right on the back of Human Feel's neck. of cause I will have to buy the CD and give these two hits equal playing time.

Listen, fucknut, it was an information gathering question. My tone, and the crux of the question are 2 different issues. I may not like the the direction they've been going since '01, but that doesn't mean I don't care about the band....I want to see them do well. They put out the equivalent of a heavy art-rock album....it will be a commercial bust, and they will fade away into obscurity....only a handful of sane people here see that.

OK. I will bite. I have never seen ONE PERSON on here love all things Journey as far as their music no matter the singer. Find me one. So don't even get the question being posed on this board will we embrace anything. I can find a great song on any Journey album. It doesn't mean I love the album as a whole.

I am not a big fan of Evolution and never listen to it. I loved two-thirds of ROR. Steve Perry's vocals amazing, but some datedness to the album. I love half of TBF, but kind of boring the rest. I love almost all of Arrival, but it took me a good year to say that. Never got into it for a long time. Generations, besides a couple of songs, an abomination. Revelation, like about half of the album and love only about three songs off of it. The rest of the songs are kind of generic.

When I heard Eclipse was without keys and almost all hard rock not much midtempo or ballads, I didn't even know if I was going to buy this album, but after hearing the clips and, yes, loving two of the songs right off the bat and one that is really growing on me, I take back my words and now can't wait to hear the album. Will I love the whole album? Maybe, maybe not. I don't know. But, at least, I now know from the preview there will be probably enough great and/or good songs on there to make me happy. Neal has said this isn't a commerical album. Album sales isn't where their money is anyway for this band at this point of their career. It's touring.

While this album may indeed not sell beyond what the band is used to, them fading into obscurity isn't going to happen anytime soon. While this lineup may not be able to develop an identity stronger than the 80s lineup, the brand called Journey will conitinue on just fine. The licensing requests are still there in great number due in large part to the band not having an open door policy on letting everyone and their brother use the music for every possible promotion out there. Sony has been very stingy on releasing the catalog of video they have from the classic years also. There is still a lot of life left in the this bands work that can be used to keep Journey's name somewhere out there.
As long as they have a singer that can somewhat replicate the material from 81 to 86, the concerts will still be big draws, especially when packaging them with peers like Foreigner who have their own great volume of past work to display also.
Yeah, the current music they are creating may not be everyone's cup of tea, and the change in the music landscape has really put a hurdle in front of Eclipse where it might not even surpass Arrival's numbers but in the big picture, Journey the name isn't going to be forgotten anytime in the near future.

Touring? You hit on it, Jana....people at shows want to hear the legacy songs. The only people who go to shows hoping to hear Faith in the Heartland are the stalker-type fans who know everything about the band; whether it's all Neal's wives names, or where Jon vacationed last year. There is absolutely no reason to release another album...as a fan, being force-fed a bunch of songs the band wants to play(think Leppard's Yeah, or Sparkle Lounge) is absolutely abhorrent. BTW, I can usually find ONE song off any album that is tolerable...doesn't mean I agree with a band's direction, or can come to the conclusion that the album as a whole is a success. This record will be a commercial bust. Like I stated before, if this album sells 200,000 copies stateside - It'll be the shock of the century. Someone mentioned this earlier, and it rings so true that I can't(or maybe can) believe nobody gets the concept...someone commented that folks were getting all over others for coming to the conclusion of not liking the stuff based on youtube clips, yet they themselves listening to the same clips came to the conclusion that they liked the stuff....why can't it go both ways? You like it based on the clips, and some of us do not like it....I've come to believe that when dealing with Journey fans, all bets are off....anything can be said at any time - and I wouldn't be surprised.....

Dude seriously, I don't see the point in arguing the whole thing. You're right, the record isn't going to sell. They'll probably start the tour playing 4 or 5 new songs, by the end of the tour Niel's band will probably be struggling to keep 1 in the setlist and giving away "free" copies of the new record at the gate.
