I havent seen a "tributes" version of Suzanne before.... Jeremy does the biz again here...love his straying away from the actual melody.... as Perry would have done it had he been ad libbing it too

this guy is fantastic.... you want Journey done properly..... you gotta have him...

ok..we have heard all the "clone.. too much like Perry" stuff before.. but the bottom line is...stick this guy next to JSS on the stage.... and he will blow JSS away... and the gods honest truth is... the majority(not the hard liners here) will prefer Jeremy to JSS .. as they want to hear those songs done faithfully.

those "highs" are just toast for this guy.. he shits them for brekky !!

You go right ahead.... If you ask me he's not showing much class. JMHO.... I mean rerally???? Ripping fans that don't think he's a good fit? No one said the guy is not an amazing talent. He needs to accept that many fans will never accept him in Journey because he sounds nothing like Journey. Do you see any other band members posting? Maybe they know better.

I admire JSS for not ripping these people a new one immediately but for taking the high road. There's been lots on here that he could've just jumped off the deep end and tore into somebody. Instead he is "quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry" (James 1:19). He's a class act from my experience with him thus far.

Q: Why is JSS fair game to all who want to turn their sights on him after about 1/2 of a tour, but not vice versa?

Probably because he actually interacts with the fans. Of course, this means that some think he's only trying to get in on the good side of the fans and elbowing Augeri out of the way at the same time.

He's getting paid isn't he? If he didn't want to be fair game he should have never accepted the position. I am sure he knew this would not be easy. I would not want to be him. LOL... But if I was I would stay away from places like this.

For what it's worth, I haven't seen Jeff "rip" a single person on this or any other website for questioning whether or not his vocal style is the correct fit for Journey. The only time Jeff has ever gone toe to toe with some clown on a website is when said clown is getting personal and telling the guy he sucks or can't sing! That is an entirely different situation than intelligently questioning whether or not Jeff can bring justice to "Classic Journey".

Oh man, TNC.

Some of the jackasses here could use a dose of neal's flamethrowing, flippant venom.

When he was on his game and the dander was up there was no checkpoint between brain and keyboard. He'd go w/ both barrels.

I think Jeff shows more class in the way he writes than anyone I've ever seen post here. He's obviously very intelligent & articulate. & most of all, he's accessible to fans. Most celebs aren't. He knows how to reach out to fans & he's not afraid to be who he is & tell us what he thinks. Unlike the bands of the old days that were so aloof and unreachable, he's here w/us, amongst us. I really like that about him. I wish the other band members would post but obviously, they don't understand the way of the future like Jeff does & the fact that the internet brings a "closeness" w/fans that wasn't there before. There are other celebs I'd love to talk to but they're too aloof to post anywhere. Bravo to Jeff for doing it this way. He's his own man doing it his way, the way he has apparently done it for years. When I first heard of him, I wondered why his fans were so unbelievably loyal. Now I know why. It's his accessibility. I hope he never ever changes.

U think he sounds nothing like Journey. I think he sounds more like the Journey of old than Augeri ever had any hope of doing. We have different opinions on this obviously & that's fine. When I heard the recent boots Dean posted, I thought YES I have Journey back again. Augeri's voice was thin & made the band sound "mellow" like "easy listening elevator music" to me. When I listen to Perry boots, I hear rich full bodied rocking stuff that makes me want to "stand up and shout" (pardon the pun). Finally, I hear that again w/Jeff. It's been a long time.

Whatever happens, some fans will always ONLY like Perry. Some will ONLY like Augeri. Some will like Perry & Augeri but nothing else. Some will support whomever Journey hires to sing the lead even if Neal did it...believe it or not. Some of us will like Jeff. It seems to me there are a lot more who are embracing Jeff than aren't (based on this forum, BT & the concert reviews). But ur certainly entitled to ur opinion.

As are you. I would disagree that more think he's "Right for the band" than those that don't.

Read the concert reviews. Read posts here & at BT. Go to a concert. Watch people enjoying it with "open arms". No we're not ALL the fans. But that sounds like the majority to me.

I went to a concert, (was more impressed than I expected to be, but it still wasn't right to me) I have read many reviews good and bad. I talked to many on both sides. Hey, I hope he proves me wrong in time. I am a fan. I hope some new music proves me wrong. I am rooting for the guy. He's an amazing talent. But like many I think they could have picked a more (Journey-like) voice.

By the way Jeremy you sound amazing!

I know he isn't (at least I hope so). Just pointing out that some fans will be fans no matter who sings lead.

JourneyRox,

You couldn't have said it any better. Thank you for that. Thank God we are all entitled to our own opinions. I am certain of three things, 1) Jeff is a class act - I doubt he is really offended by the bull shit becasue that is all it is. He is beyond minor stabs at this point. But I'm sure he enjoys a little forum fun too. 2) There is plenty of proof that the majority is in Jeff's favor - reviews, postings etc. and 3) I have never enjoyed a Journey concert as much I did with Jeff performing.

It doesn't mean I will be pissed or cry like a sissy girl if there ends up being another front man...it just means that in addition to being a long time Journey fan, I'm a die hard JSS fan now, also. No offense to the sissy girls...I'm a chick too.

Not sure yet. She wants to. We have a sitter, but the dog is an issue. Are we staying over or going back afterwards? I guess that's the next question. My friend Doug, from the game Sunday is interested in going too.
