I think putting Journey on hold from 87-95, dumping Chalfant and Rolie and taking him at his word (huge mistake), and then waiting 2 years for him to make a decision on having hip surgery seems like the ultimate respect. Too bad it was always a one-way street.

Give it up Daniel. :P

Cool move, should be fun to (hopefully) watch. This made me just realize that I haven't listened to any Journey in quite awhile....
Rock on,

Sorry, but I am getting tired of SteveW2's(sp) Friga posts so I groaned when I saw it was headed that way... Dean, big fan of Bruce but I really only love one of his albums--Born to Run... Dancing in the Dark and a couple of those other turkeys he did in the 80's were just as bad as some of Journey's corny ballads... I love Bob Dylan and Willie more than Bruce and probably more than Journey but it would be weird to worship them here... What do you think? And please don't get mad; it's just an observation...

Yeah, I know he's sold tons of records 'cause he's made tons of records. So you don't love Bob Dylan and/or Willie? What do you think of them?

You don't like Jon Leonard Friga? I think he's pretty cool even if he does play both sides of the fence.

Love Dylan's lyrics but cannot take his singing. I love Bruce because of the lyrics, the music, and the meaning, and he can really sing well live. I am on record as saying there isn't a better frontman ever. No one sings with more heartfelt emotion than Bruce does. He is at one with his audience, and the audience feels like part of the family. There isn't a live show like his anywhere. Like Willie but don't take him too serious. Too many tarnished episodes, however, I am a little pissed at Brucey. Surprised Andrew hasn't picked up on it, and wrote about it on the front page.

Also, what do you mean tarnished episodes with Willie? The pot or the IRS? I thought of another great frontman too: George Jones--what a great musician.

He sold out to Walmart. Putting out yet another GH CD. I assume it's for Super Bowl pub, and I don't think he had the call over where it was released. I think, and hope Sony made this decision. People will let him know about it at the shows for sure if he made the call. Walmart goes against everything he and his music stands for. It will probably sell 8-10 million units at 10 bucks a pop, but it reeks of hypocrisy. Andrew, get the news on this and don't crib it from Backstreets ok? :D

Love George Jones, but dude is older than dirt. Can't really perform any longer. Willie kind of soured me on all the IRS and illegal shit. I could care less about pot; think it should be legal. He wrote some great songs to be sure.

Have you ever seen Bob Dylan live? My brother is a few years older than me; he has seen Jimi Hendrix twice but told me that Bob Dylan put on the best show he had ever seen.

STYX did a preshow a few years ago and was played about an hour before kick off and was on TV... Dont even remember what song it was they played. they could be on something like that??? get 5 minutes... DSB or AWYWI would be my two choices..
Everyone knows AWYWI from caddyshack all those years ago... ;-) being a Journey snob I would prefer feeling that way...but not gonna happen.

I don't remember the IRS story that well--I think he negotiated the penalties and paid it back, right? Anyway, I am still stuck on the The Boss making a deal with Wallyworld, lol. For heaven's sakes he doesn't need any more money, does he?
