Paraphrasing:

"the problem - guided by a simplistic notion that people who have wealth are entitled to keep it, and have an antipithy towards the means of redistributing wealth"

Scary...

Jim Moran is a certifiable village idiot. When the U.S. sent peacekeeping troops to Haiti in the mid-1990s, Jim Moran argued (get this!) that we needed to help the Haitians because they had helped us during the American Revolution.

Ummmmmmm ...... apparently he stupidly confused Haitians with Hessians -- and they weren't helping us. The German mercenaries were shooting at us. Dumbkopf.

He's one of the dimmer bulbs in the U.S. House, along with the twitchy Nancy Pelosi and her loudmouth colleague Maxine Waters. Three of them combined are a good argument for limited government (and probably abortion). :D

I wonder what they thought when that dude walked between them. It sounds like they thought he would turn tail and walk in the other direction.

Obama's MTV Interview: Chump Change
When asked about raising taxes on those making over $250,000 Obama answered "that's chump change." Oh really, $9,000 added to what one is already sending to the IRS is chump change?

Sway: Just out of curiosity, for those that are being taxed that are making more than $250,000 a year, how much difference would it be from how they are being taxed today?

Obama: Well, right now, they are getting taxed at 36 percent. Under Bill Clinton in the 1990s, they were being taxed at 39.6 percent. You are talking about a 3.6 percent difference, and for the average person who is making half a million, a million dollars, now people like you Sway, that’s chump change, that’s nothing. But it could make a big difference for that young person who is trying to figure out whether they can go to college or not, if we could give them more of a break or more scholarships or grants to go to college.

I got something akin to that when I came back from Somalia. I had to write "I don't hate black people" one thousand times while in Social Actions class.

Bullshit tito....they connections that I drew with my wife are very similar to the repeated connections that the Right has tried to draw with Obama. Focus on the guy's issues....not the fucking people he had dinner with a few times, or sits on a board with.

Do you even know the relationships people have on boards with eachother? for example....several years ago, Lou Dobbs sat on the board of Space.com with several people who DONT agree with him politically. If Dobbs ran for president, there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY I would ever consider those other people to have an influence factor on Dobbs...at all. How fucking rediculous....

So you're saying that your wife voluntarily sat and listened to her relative's psychotic rants without objection for 20 years?
That she willingly traveled and sought "spitual guidance" from a borderline maniac? I think your analogy sucks, Frank.

Bill Ayers tried to kill government officials when he bombed the Pentagon and his wife constructed a bomb that killed a police officer. I agree that you can't always know who sits on a board with you, but when you knowingly enter the house of an enemy of the state you have exercised terrible judgment. And to be smug and unrepentent about it and use "I was 8 years old when that happened" as an excuse just goes to show that his voter base is made up predominantly of uneducated dopes.

oh lighten up. he voted in hist first presidential election and is feeling good. just cuz you and the majority of this board don't like barack obama should not take away from some enthusiasm by a young man.

He was pretty much spamming the thread with large pictures, I would have said the same thing if someone was spamming pictures of McCain or Palin. I was trying to read the actual discussions going on and kept having to scroll half a screen down ridiculous pics. It was like having three giant avatars every two posts. Annoying. This isn't a concert pic thread.

It was suggested. I was in an SOS unit in the Air Force. Because we are such a small percentage of the total USAF, we don't have combat stress control teams like the Army or Marines. We just basically talk about our feelings that accompany the process of extinguishing a life. After the initial rush, their is a lot of anger and confusion, that has to be released immediately, usually by talking or some other forms of expression. Not dealing with it sometimes becomes a sad story about domestic violence or suicide. Writing about it or talking about it, even if it appears obsessive helps a lot if it is done immediately after the action at hand. If you don't, it builds up to something that could be vented later with terrible consequences.

Sorry Guido we disagree. I'm not so quick to brand Obama a terrorist collaborator. That being said, he KNOWINGLY and WILLINGLY associated with a known terrorist & a known black supremacist. Ayers wasn't a "casual acquaintance" nor was his preacher.

Those facts speak to quality of his character. You are only as good as the company you keep...

It was annoying... Trav knows I heart him, but it was. And I'm all for being passionate about what you believe in, but a little objectivity goes a long way. Then again, the boy does the same thing with Steelers pics from time to time, so it is just his personality. That said, those Superbama pics made me puke in my mouth. A Batmccain would've had the same effect, in all fairness.

Since when do you have a problem with the right?

Second, the fondation he sat on had a radical agenda. That's the issue. His IDEOLOGY is the same as Ayers. Lets knock off the b.s. too. It was more than a few random encounters too. Were they the best of friends maybe not and probably not, but maybe yes. Ayers appointed him to handle the funds in excess of $50 million so that leads me to believe it was more than a infrequent acquaintance relationship.

It is not the same as your wife's cousin. Would and could it come up in a campaign, yes if she were running for President and possibly a statewide race. If she were running just locally, congress, or down ticket in general probably not. If she would say she doesn't agree with him and only seen once in the last 15 years. Most people would not put much stock in it or at worst not change their vote because of it.

According to TNC, it shouldn't matter, though. You know that Ayers has received awards for his excellence in education since he tried to destroy buildings and kill people, right? Even though he hasn't repented and, in fact, said he wish he'd done more.

Thank god...a few more hours and all of this partisan bullshit goes away for 4 years. I have a new rule I want to put forward for a vote, seeing how this is the day to vote. Every time a card carrying Republican questions Obama's relationship with Ayers (I question his relationship with whacko reverend), they also have to question McCain's relationship with Liddy. I will then agree to call Biden the jackass he is every time I make mention of what a dope Puppet Palin is
