Jeff was "officially" named as Journey's frontman.............so ya, he was "officially" fired.

Perry, who’s finally started working on his first album of new material since leaving Journey

Wasn't Steve's new material since leaving Journey "For the Love of Strange Medicine"......could the interviewer have his facts wrong or did he post this to just get reactions that he talked to Steve? :?: :?:

Nah, just informing you of the word "official" baby. You made it sound like Jeff was never officially Journey's frontman.

Ugh...that was a memorable experience. After such a kind exchange with Deen Castronovo and his family, you're right, he literally sucked the fun out of the room. A completely unsolicited altercation. What's wrong with that guy, Allen? :?

Heck, for those of us that weren't in attendance,
does anyone have any pix of he who shall not be named???
Cuz if it's the JT I'm thinking of, I would LOVE to see a pic of this guy

I snapped this pic of his best side at a meet 'n greet in New Orleans...

Your definition and my definition obviously differ. I can see a guy that was paid to only finish a tour when I see one. You obviously can't. Additionally, an "official" frontman would have recorded original music.

What's wrong with this? OK, it's in a lower key and his backup singers stink but, I didn't see anything wrong with this for a live show recorded with a cheap, mono, 90's style 8mm camcorder. Did you ever see Augeri perform that song with Journey? I'd take Perry's version any day.

I liked this article...it's more open than I expected & long - I thought it might just be a blurb on Journey. As always I get excited when I read Steve Perry actual words...and, am I dreaming or did I read "working on new album" ?? I'm afraid to hope.

Huh? He was announced as the official new lead singer. End of story. He may not have recorded new music with the band but he was most certainly official. It was announced on their official site's main page. End of story.

Funny thing is, Dan, Scon, Cain and Soto were all talking up what they had in store for us
once Jeff was "officially" named Journey's new lead singer.

All of us were ready for that, even Jeff, until Cronin let the cat out of the bag

But hey, it worked out well for all.
Jeff is happy, got some spotlight time he deserved, gained some fans
and Journey went out and found themselves a gem in Arnel...
Yes, I am really digging the guy.

It says a lot about a song when you can hear a 20 sec. clip once or twice
a week ago and it just sticks in your head.
i am excited as hell about this release, as well as Jeff's, Perry's (maybe) and
even something from Augeri...

Damn, this could literally be a Hella-Journey Year!
Welcome to Terminus... You hungry?

Schon's getting to the age where he probably needs to take some of that botox-infused skin from his face and transplant it down below to get some extra lift, if you know what I mean.

Nope, you're wrong. FTLOSM was before he re-joined to do TBF. He did have one new single, "I Stand Alone", off of the Vision Quest soundtrack and then Sony released "Greatest Hits + 5" as part of his agreement to get out of his contract with Sony. Otherwise no real new "Steve Perry" material. A couple of collaborations and background vocals but, nothing new.

Now, I'm not counting all of the Chicago White Sox stuff from three years ago. :D

I think it was probably along the way of, "Neal Schon said this... what say you, sir?" It seems like a response to Neal, almost.

I see what you're saying about class, Deb, but just once I'd love to see Perry go, "You know what, fuck that little motherfucker. And please print that."

Not because I necessarily feel that way or anything. I just think it would be really funny.
