I wish they had more songs with lyrics that were a little more like this.. The whole relationships lost, heartache, What did I do wrong girl, whos crying now gets a bit tedious. I really love Journey however I wish they would have spread their wings a bit more ala Dream After Dream but even that album isnt all there because too little Perry. Love the damn music though...

I think the music is what made Dream After Dream one of Journey's best works. It didn't need vocals.; What was there was just the right amount. It remains my favorite piece of Journey music....simply stunning.

I like all of it up until after TBF - that is when it ended for me.

Agreed!!! It sucks to be a Steve Perry fan!

journey361 wrote:So will Perry's voice sound better on his upcoming solo comeback CD. or worse than TBF. There is no question he struggled through this period on TBF. But will 14 years with no strain and rest help him including help from the Doc. At 60, is it possible he's captured some or alot of voice back?.

Arnel will rock and nail that song.
Arnel needs to lay off of SP and SA's sloppy seconds and get more of his own songs to nail. I expect a minimum of 14 NEW songs on this next album.

+2 The next album does need to be original. Obviously they'll play some of the classics in concert, but if Journey is going to continue, they need to evolve. The rerecords are a waste of a disc and just cause dissention - I look at them as a transition, but that phase is over. It will be better for Arnel to have his own unique part of the Journey legacy and better for the band to just move on, as they've always declared that is what they are trying to do.

Regardless of personal reasons they are out there for us because of us. Whether they appreciate us still showing up isn't my place to speculate. But they're there and it matters to this fan.
