wouldn't it be great if they rereleased captured and added songs like,
people and places, precious time, patiently, winds of march, lovin' you is easy, make it a doulble disc, other bands have done this,

Yes, that would be fantastic. I remember buying Captured when it first came out and wearing it out over the next month. I used to know this, but what is the story behind the band putting "The Party's Over (Hopelessly in Love)" at the end of that album? I heard a story that they wrote that song in about 15 mins. and recorded it on the spot? Is this true?

I highly doubt that they'd do this, but I sure wish they'd release a CD and/or DVD of LIVE rarities from that era, 1978-1980. Especially some DEPARTURE tour footage, of which Herbie Herbert has stated that there's a Japan show in the can that's supposedly absolutely phenomenal! It was the last show of the Departure tour and of course, Gregg Rolie's last performance with the band. I've seen/heard the Escape/Frontiers stuff a thousand times already...Not to discredit this material in any way, but I think you all here understand what I'm getting at.

Also, how about this idea; Captured II: 1998 - 2005 ??

Hell yeah. Captured is my favorite Journey album. The whole Departure era is my favorite era. They were still a rock band then, before Open Arms. So any "bonus" stuff from that era would be great.

I prefer Evolution over Departure. Evolution always seems to be the ignored Journey album. I would love a CD or DVD of the Infinity/Evolution/Departure era, with songs not on Captured, like "Lovin' You is Easy", "City of the Angels", "Too Late", "Good Morning Girl", "Something to Hide", Winds of March", etc. We can dream...

Yes. Departure era. Captured. This was great stuff. Yet this being my favorite gets me accused of living in the past.
Wish there were more from that era.

The Captured concert represents some of the best Journey sound. I would hope Perry and the boys will eventually release a CD/DVD combo set....I bet it would outsell Revelations!...especially if Wal Mart is the venue.

Sony owns the rights to all that stuff. None of the members have ties to Sony/BMG anymore with the exception of Perry, so it's going to be difficult for this stuff to surface.

does feeling that way feel likes its going 60 mph...
reissue it as a DVD and add the songs mentioned above... If I remeber right no one else did that back then add a bonus song at the end of a live LP... plust to add a brand new song LIVE on a live LP... that was EPIC JOURNEY BACK THEN.

If they were to release anything from the Departure tour it should be the 1980 Houston Summit show. It is phenomenal! I have an outstanding audio recording of the entire show where nothing has been edited out (commerical spots, interviews, ect.). VH1 Classics play two videos from this show every now and then. I have one or two shows from the Departure tour when they played in Japan. I can say that those shows were not even close in comparison to the Houston show but these may be different from the show HH mentioned.
