Great post! My favorite five are: Escape, Ask The Lonely, Stone in Love, Where Were You and Wheel In the Sky...

No way dude. Back Talk is NOT the worst Journey song.

That honor goes to--

"Baby I'm Leavin' You"--Pure shit...How did Neal accept this crap? I know if he could erase it off TBF he would..

And yet, there it remains adorning the Essential JRNY in place of Remember Me.

There was a compromise. Neal forced it not to be recognized as part of TBF's running order. That's why it's a hidden track.

"You know in my heart it's trUE"

Sounds like that Milli Vanilli song "Girl you know it's true...ooh ooh ooh, I love you" (Just TRY and stop singing that now!! )

But I don't mind "Baby I'm Leavin' You". I thought the whole 'island' sound was fun and different. But I guess there is a GOOD reason why the song is "hidden". What I DON'T understand is how that song could have been included on Essential Journey and WHY it was a different (even worse) version!!!!! :x

I enjoyed "Don't Be Down On Me Baby" but I thought it should have been bluesed up more. It was almost a bluesy song. if they took it all the way that song would have been GREAT!

If you are going to change the rules of the thread from "Songs you would recommend" to "songs you don't like" you should really say so...:D

Listen to TBF and then listen to EJ. They are different. Not much, but different. I hated the EJ version.

Hey Sadie

These are my favorite 6 (I cheated) Journey songs:

Stone In Love
Any Way You Want It
Lovin', Touchin Squeezin'
Feelin' That Way
Open Arms
Faithfully

But I don't think they're the best Journey songs. I'm not sure what the top 5 would be, they have too many songs to choose just 5 from and such a variety of songs over the years.

I really love "Don't Be Down On me Baby" for the way SP sings the song with such "deep sincere emotion", so it will always be one of my favorites to listen to.

You think I am that stupid? To waste my time comparing that song?

I can only think of one song ever, by anyone, worse than BILY..Tainted Love..The worst ever. Congrats King, you get the silver.

How hard is this.

Escape
Higher Place
Faithfully
Just The Same Way
Seperate Ways.

They are the first five off the top of my head. They would probably change if I thought about it.

I've refined it, as per Sadie's origninal instruction, to 5 with much consternation.

Higher Place
The Time
Liberty
Positive Touch
Stone In Love

I think. Barely missing cut were Sep. Ways and TPIYH (still too new definately makes my all current lineup top 5).
