Live DVD or CD from the European tour?

I think that releasing a show from the upcoming European tour on DVD or CD would be a great first step for the new Journey. Give JSS and the guys a show or two to warm up and then film a show. You could also film a few shows and release the best one. Record it and mix it properly and then release it in the summer of 2007, perhaps around the time when a tour would be kicking off. Since there probably will not be a U.S. tour in summer 2007, this would be a product that could keep Journey's name out there and introduce JSS to the public who might not have seen him on the tour with Def Leppard. Then, when the new album and subsequent tour happen in 2008, people will already be familiar with Journey and JSS.

This would be a way for management, who say that they are treating this Journey as a brand new band, to prove it. Get this DVD marketed properly and I think it could be a hit, especially coming off of the successful tour with Def Leppard.

I like your idea. If they release an album they could put a video with it as a bonus, that would be fun too. Or how about use this video idea on itunes for .99 as a download, heck I'd pay $2.99 8)

That's a solid option, too...they could film a show from the 2008 tour supporting the new album. Although maybe they could take steveforever's idea and have some downloadable content with JSS available, instead of a full-blown live DVD, to fill the time between now and that new album and tour.
