There is not much Journey news to talk about and it is more a gathering point for the many that check this board out. So it is now a general forum/Journey forum.

Why not just rename this forum to "The Melodic Rock Asylum", and start a new, empty Journey forum? That way the ordinary people coming to MR would have some kind of warning that they're entering a forum that may not be so tame. You could even put more of a warning in the forum description text. Or do you think everyone would migrate to the new one?

No way. Deano exposed Journey for who they are/were. A band that wants to tour and make money at all costs. Instead of taking a break and let there lead singer Steve Augeri get his voice back,they went on tour anyway. He ruined what voice he left,and lipped while Neal and Friga looked on and even insulted him with comments after the fact about he was a Pro Tools Creation. Then afterwards hired Jeff, lead him on and fired him without any reason ,and didnt have the balls to even tell him to his face. Deano saw the writing on the wall much sooner the most people here.Me included.I was the last person to accept the lipping fiasco. If there is any downfall of this board{and i dont think it is} it is Journey. If they tour and I go see them,I have no desire to meet Neal and Friga again. Depending on the next singer, I might not ever bother to see Journey anyway.I ran up abput $5000.00 on my credit card since 2002 to see Journey. Yes I was entertained, but I also feel ripped off, and I regret spending some of that money on a band that lies to their fans and treats their singers like shit. I thank Deano for the truth.

The problem is so many people have such hate and anger regarding the band! Yeah Deano certainly likes to shoot off but i tip my hat to him regarding exposing the band that was ripping off the fans!! As soon as you pay for a ticket for a show the band has an obligation to give you what you payed for in this case a live show.If for some reason the singer cannot sing then cancel,sack him or state on the tickets and posters that the singer is miming! Otherwise its fraud

Blaming Deano for the downfall of this board is like only blaming Augeri for tape-gate.

I voted no. I think Deano is cool. I'll tell you one thing. If I ever needed anybody to defend me. He is the one I would want. 1986 - Perry walks out in the middle of tour citing "I'm toast" Fans are pissed
1987 - 1996 Nothing from Journey of any kind. Not even a press release stating "we're retired". Fans are pissed at being left in the dark about what has happened to their favorite band.

1996 - Perry walks out on TBF reunion tour citing hip injury Fans are pissed
1998 - Journey moves on with SA alienating Perry fans who are still pissed and vocal about it.
2006 - Journey attempts to defraud fans with lip synced concerts from a singer they burned out. Fans are pissed
2006 - Journey releases SA citing vocal chord injury. Fans Know the truth and are pissed at the band for lying to cover it up - SA fans pissed and now joined the Perry alienated

2006 - Journey hires JSS, promises new direction, new material and a return to legacy sound. - Fans are cautiously optimistic.
2007 - Journey fire JSS without warning, or reason - Don't even "tell" fans on journey website. Just unceremoniously delete all references to JSS from site. Fans are once again pissed for being led down a path to no where, broken promises, and lies

2007 - Journey once again looking for singers. rumors run rampant about the possibility of a singer with questionable English speaking skills taking the helm. Fans pissed about possibility of "legacy" sound being tainted by a singer with a foreign accent.

I voted NO..How could one person be the reason! There is just no Journey Band any longer...so therefore nothing to talk about...
It will certainly be interesting to see what they do next, however not waiting with baited-breath.

But on another note, please do not denegate any of their talents.. they are all awesome and made the best music in the world.

OK, I'm confused. I haven't been around for a few days, but I did get to read Andrew's thread yesterday. What does Andrew changing the name of this forum have to do with Dean??? As I understand it, Drew's choice was made due to the actions of a disgruntled Journey fan over RECENT events. Dean had very little to do with those recent events. In fact, if I remember correctly, he didn't really say anything negative about the whole situation that lead to this recent shitstorm. So I'm not really sure of the need to poll people to figure out if Dean is responsible for this stuff.

Had this happened a year ago, I might have considered a 'yes' vote. NOT because he did anything wrong as I see it, but because what happened has been SOOO controversial. As it stands today, I see no relationship between Dean and the failure of the forum formerly known as Journey. If anyone is responsible for that downfall, IMO it would be the members of the band and it's management.

Now...if I've missed something (I don't really want to sift through the 25 or so threads that I've not been able to read), please enlighten me. Until then, I would encourage those who voted 'yes' on this poll to show yourselves, and give a justification for your vote.
