John "JT" Toomey Appreciation Thread

Postby Tito » Sat Jun 21, 2008 5:09 am

John Toomey, "JT", or the "Dollar Lama" whichever you prefer, one thing remains you do a great job. As part of Azoff Management, the legendary Irving Azoff trust you with one of his prized possessions, Journey. You've done it all. You do a good job and keep yourself behind the scenes. So, it's not about ego. You put your band first. You take care of them and all their needs. Along with the band, I'm sure you treat your employees well. Whether it's getting the band members to the next show, giving them first class travel arrangements, finding a way to bring the new singer over from halfway across the world, or keeping crazy fans away, you excel at everything you do. So, thank you Mr. John Toomey.

Fans, if you would like express your thanks to Mr. Toomey, feel free to post it here. Whether it's a good story or experience. I'm sure he's left you with a memorable moment or two. Feel free to tell your story.

Also, if you haven't had a chance yet, don't forget about the Herbie Herbert thread: http://forums.melodicrock.com/phpBB/vie ... hp?t=35564 and the Jon Cain thread: http://forums.melodicrock.com/phpBB/vie ... hp?t=35500

He's a hardworking man, who's long overdue for some appreciation. Any stories would be appreciated.

I remember a story outside P.F. Chang's in Vegas... unfortunately it went down just as Gayle and I had gone off to the girly room and we missed it. It's a funny story, but it's not mine to tell.

JT gets a bad rap...it's his JOB to be a dick...otherwise people would walk all over the guys in the band. A tour manager has a ton of reponsibility that you can't understand until you spend a day watching it being done.

All that being said, my family and I have had some very nice times with JT. He has also let me have it when needed as well.

You are all judging a man that most of you have spent what, like a total of 5 minutes around? Would you want to be judged based on 5 minutes of time?

Stu, the guy *is* a dick...one of the biggest ones I've ever met. I am absolutely flabergasted that Tito actually has the balls big enough to post such a thread (My hats off to you dude, you're dipping your nutsack in pirana infested water with this one! ;) )

What next? A "mini skirt chick from Separate Ways video Appreciation" thread?

She was an intregal cog in the Journey machine. She gave Cain his first case of crabs. I'm starting a thread about appreciating Perry's goddamn hair if this keeps up. (at least that was more enjoyable to look at than Herbie and it didn't talk back)

I think you should start a thread for Augeri's red leather pants, and get all the jackass talkers over here to get all lathered up over it

No, other than random stories and such, I know little to nothing about the guy.
Other than he HAS to have some change in his coin purse to do some of the stuff he does!!!

LOL, nobody can tell that story as funny as SJ, who also said Dean was stomping down the hallway towards Castronovo like The Tallman in the first Phantasm when he does that slo-mo monster stomp walk.

You should've been there... I remember standing on the lower level of the restaurant and looking out the door and seeing Deen... then looking up to the stairs and seeing Dean. Someone was going, "Oh shit, oh shit!" ...Didn't know what was going to happen... someone was either gonna get decked or manhugged. After that I got distracted by God knows what (Vegas is really shiny) and by the time I'm out to where they are everybody's laughing and hugging and having a blast. What a cool night.

I will say something else nice about JT... he works with some awesome guys (Journey). 8)

Mini Skirt Chick was all kinds of dirty.

She blew HH behind that big stack of pallets.

(and let's all applaud me for erasing and replacing what I originally typed in this post!! I'm hitting new lows here. Not pretty.)
