The only one to argue against that is Steve himself. He has stated numerous times " I am not part of Journey and I haven't been since 1998. I get what you are saying but you don't have to shoot the horse just because the rider doesn't want to take him out anymore and you don't have to change the Horse's name either just because he has a new rider.

Much as i am a fan of Jeff - he isnt exactly over enamoured with the band right now - whereas Perry has never done him any harm so its not exactly a huge surprise to hear him say this. He was and is a huge Perry fan, not so convinced he is still a Journey fan......

That's why I HAVE to think he was talking about battling a certain stigma or stereotype that he didn't subscribe to and wanted to conquer. He admits as much about 3 lines later when he allows that Journey pulled it off w/ Pineda.

I'd be inclined to agree that the voice of Journey, as far as the vast majority of fans are concerned, is Steve Perry, but as far as Steve Perry being Journey, Soto's off his rocker...only if that's what he meant.

Who is enjoying the new Journey?

That is all that matters.
