In an earlier thread about the separate ways video I mentioned that videos don't usually hold up well over time. Tonight on VH-1C I saw the Bonnie Tyler video for a total eclipse of the heart. A bunch of dudes with freaky shining eyes dancing around her in loin cloths. Very funny now, but I'm sure the Tyler and the director were dead serious about it at the time. Which are some more of the worst videos? Are there any that hold up over time?

In High School, I sang in a band called Moon Dog. We actually opened for this group at a bar in Wilmington Delaware. This song came out probably two years later. It's like they're doing a singing version of Bible study in a factory. Just too weird.

Yep- YOU MIGHT THINK is a pretty crappy vid. I never got all the hub-bub about it back in the day! It was hailed as some kind of cutting edge thing...just looked sorta creepy to me.

But now, Journey fans, if we're being HONEST here- isn't FAITHFULLY the worst video ever made? Literal videos , even in the 80's, were just SO sucktacular! (You know, they say something about a HIGHWAY RUN and the camera shows us...A HIGHWAY!!!! Wow! How fucking creative!!
And I still think that moustache on Perry is a fake!

It's a terrible vid but the song blows. I kinda think you have to have heard the song to qualify. I mean what started this was a discussion of Separate Ways which was a huge song and the video is lame-o.

I had a metal show at my collegiate radio station, and we had an entire wall of the studio devoted to a Rick Astley dartboard. Word got out, and whenever anyone found any pictures of The Ast, we would add it to our collection. There were hundreds by the time I finished, with literally tens of thousands of dart holes.

I'd take the ATF video 10 times over the Separate Ways vid. I honestly felt sorry for the guys over that one, and still do.
