Second round knockout??? With all due respect to Mr. Soto...He'd be knocked out in about 10 seconds, in this battle!

I'm well aware of that. I have thanked Jeff, personally for the immense respect he has for Perry. With all the shit that Schon spews, it was nice to see someone in the Journey camp display a bit more class, for "the legacy". I believe that the day will come, when Schon is old and gray, where Schon will finally understand just how much money he was able to make in his life, all because of a guy named Steve Perry. I realize and acknowledge that Schon is a guitar virtuoso, but he was already blessed with that talent, long before Perry came along, and he wasn't getting paid for it, like he was after!

JSS has been telling everybody since day one that there are few talents out there that could touch Perry. He has alot of respect for what he accomplished. Why can't people just chill and appreciate Soto's talent and not compare. Nobody is gonna out Perry, Perry. He was more than just the voice of Journey, and JSS knows that, as well.

People make way too much out of high notes, low notes, rasp, smooth & clear vocals. It's all singing as long as it is on key and it's all subjective....UNLESS you're talking about technique. Now that's where Perry is head and shoulders above the rest. Dude has skills. Tenor or baritone, he'll never lose what sets him apart from everybody else. I'm betting Soto would agree with that, too.

To me Jeff, has always been in the camp of Rainbow, WhiteSnake, Dokken, Y&T, House of Lords, and that ilk. Perry is part of the other camp, Styx, Reo, Boston, Foreigner, even Loggins. The only thing common is they both sang for Journey but that's it. I think they're polar opposites when you look at their prior work.

What's that??? :?

This wasn't intended to start a nasty debate about Perry vs. Soto. It was funny, and I thought folks would appreciate the humor in it. There were also some other links to Journey stuff that I thought Arnel fans would like.

We all know how much JSS respects SP. There was NEVER any attempt to replace SP in the hearts of Journey fans during his tenure. That was part of the draw, for me. I love 'em both! 8)

Agreed. Legend is definitely pushing it somewhat.

Never heard of Jeff before MR, so maybe folks are tosing "legend" around too liberally?
He's certainly quite talented.

"UNLESS you're talking about technique. Now that's where Perry is head and shoulders above the rest."

If that were true he would still be singing today.
