For those who aren't baseball fans, his dad was the legendary Harry Caray of Chicago Cubs fame.

He was awesome... I was so sad to hear this on the radio this morning.
My thoughts are with Chip bigtime. :(

I was shocked to hear the news this morning. Not as popular as his dad, but well thought of in Atlanta. I thought he would have had another 15 years in broadcasting.

Turns out his son Chip found out while he was broadcasting the TBS game of the week. Really sad.

Skip had a great, dry sense of humor and was a big part of the Braves' broadcasts. RIP!

I am an insane baseball fan and Skip was one of the best. Because of the pace of the game it is very important to have knowledgeable and charismatic announcers. I will really miss hearing him call a ballgame. His Dad was a personality, but Skip was a pure baseball announcer.
