Well, in my opinion, the real Metallica ceased to exist when they put out that crap-"Load" album. I remember playing it on the way home and thinking, "What the hell! Did these guys forget how to play their instruments or what???"

To me, "Load" was an obvious attempt to capitalize on the current trend at the time instead of naturally progressing but still staying true to their roots. Even their look was totally changed from before and simply a rip-off of the way grunge musicians looked at the time.

They just evolved. I like the majority of the catalog for what they are individually, even St. Anger. They never really were a band that found a winning formula and stuck with it (AC/DC, I'm looking at you ). Other than their core musicianship, I like 'tallica for their diversity. And they are pretty damn funny!

Yep, you called it. I even kinda like both the "load" albums, but it was an obvious effort to appear "current", which wasn't what Metallica was all about. But God almighty, that ST ANGER crap was the worst! LOAD was Zepplin IV compared to that shit!

An someone tell me why the hell they'll play MOLINE, but skip Cincy, Louisville, Nashville or Atlanta!!! Is this but the first leg?
