Andrew you mentioned this on the noticeboard. Any updates here?

Miles Kennedy is the singer for AlterBridge (Creed minus Scott Stapp). If he leaves Alterbridge I wonder if Creed will reunite??

Scott Stapp was to have released his next solo album 8-8-08. Mysteriously this album has disappeared..

When I'd originally heard a "vocalist for a metal band from Florida" was supposedly replacing Plant, I immediately thought Zak Stevens from Savatage/Circle II Circle for some reason.

I love Alter Bridge, that would kinda suck if he left them.

David Coverdale is the only one I could see even remotely touching that one, lol.

I guess all the money in the world couldn't convince Plant to return for one more tour? :?

Jorn Lande does Coverdale better than Coverdale himself these days!

There are some bands you just don't replace with a poseur singer. Zeppelin is one of them.

Alison Krauss must have slipped him a mickey or somethin'...

I just think Plant's of the mindset that he's "been there, done that," and he doesn't need the money or the hassle of trying to hit the notes on "Immigrant Song" night after night. If you've heard any live tapes of him, his voice simply cannot handle the high Zep stuff anymore (no disrespect toward Plant).

I saw him with Alison earlier this year, and it was amazing. His voice (in that register) sounded great. I think this project has him stoked and is interesting to him, while trotting out all the old Zep hits for a 100+ shows doesn't sound intriguing.

Regardless of how much money the promoters are dangling in front of him, he makes enough off the songwriting royalties alone annually to never have to step on stage again.

I don't think Alison influenced his decision. I mean, she's doing quite well on her own. Sold-out tours, decent record sales, multiple Grammies, very respected, etc., etc.

I'll metion again. I think Chris Robinson is the man for the job. I am not sure how things were left relationship/friendship wise after the BC/Page tour was cut short years ago. :?:

One of my main problems with a replacement for Plant is that personally? I would NEVER want to be the guy on stage replacing a legend, whether or not I could hit the notes.

To do so would be a MASSIVE undertaking, and with all due respect to the Journey/Steve Perry parallel some may draw, this is at another level altogether.

If they are going to do something, give it another name, or much LIKE Journey without SP, it is a cheap knock-off TO ME...just so you understand, that's MY OPINION. I know there are others.
