OT: Most important election of our time or..

The most sensational tragic comedy every produced...
It is all so laughable now... Families not on speaking terms over political disagreements (seen 1st hand). Mud slinging and nitpicking over every little thing each candidate does no matter how small.. Deception and misleading stabs from BOTH sides daily.
The funny part is what makes the headlines... I dont have any quotes but all I see is a bunch of children fighting over who owns the playground...
Omaba, McCain, Palin.... All great comedians and they dont even know it....
I have realized that this election has brought out the worst in people and even in myself as I have found myself enraged right along with everyone else at the state of things.. No more... I WILL NOT LET THIS SHIT RUIN MY DAY..
. I have seen more HEATED debates between normal folk than ever before and everyone where I live is so afraid of Obama. Around here it is racial and it is so sad... I vote with my brain and with an informed opinion (i hope). How can you make a good choice though ? With all the misleading bullshit and scare tactics from both sides who the hell do you believe? I am left confused and finding that I no longer care who the hell wins.
Myself, I am scared of neither of them. I am more afraid that WE will bring more hardships on ourselves through paranoia, panic and overreaction..
Im writing in Jesse Ventura damnit !

Nah...Don't throw your vote away. You can still vote and just leave the one for President blank if you're truly not satisfied with the choices. If you would vote for Obama then, yes, please do not vote.

Same here. I got heat from my own boyfriend the other night because I refused to talk about politics and who I'm voting for with him. He thought we saw eye to eye on the basic issues, which we do but I'm not voting for he is voting for this time, I DO know THAT and didn't want to hear the BS. I don't want one side to get in there but don't like the prospects of the other side in there either. I used to vote for the lesser evil but I'm not sure what to do now. It has really worried me about the state of this world all together and I agree with Liquid_Drummer: I am left confused and no longer care. I just want to watch TV again without 70 politcal ads in an hour.

I'm not particularly worried either way. Sure, I'd like to see McCain win, but this kind of realignment that looks to be happening next Tuesday happens every 10-15 years, the policies don't work out as promised (esp for the "middle class"), and we go back to square one. Me, I'll just keep worrying about myself in the mean time and riding it out.

no matter who you vote for, I don't think anything is really going to "Change" or get fixed. I will hold out hope, but after watching Bush win twice, I pretty much feel America gets what it deserves and I expect that this time will be no different.

I have a preference, but if I don't get what I want, life goes on. And that is what I will do. I will not be mad at anyone for voting for the opposition. I look at it this way, this forum has the most diverse of personalities and ideals very much like our nation. My mother in law and I don't agree on politics, but I still love her. Bottom line, neither side has only good people or bad people supporting them.
Vote your concience, and let it go.
I don't discuss politics with her or anyone on this site anymore, because it is not worth making enemies, or hurting loved ones over. I would rather let everyone have the right to their oppinion.

The problem is that most people take it HIGHLY personal if you attack their candidate. Its like attacking them, personally.
and that's quite sad....

I agree. No matter who is voted in, we are all in a recession, it is going to be a rough ride. I am still looking for work, I sub, but until flu and holiday season hits, there is little work. Maybe by next year I will be picked up as a teacher. We need to concentrate on life, these political people can turn out to be not what we had hoped.
Put more stock in your loved ones.

Until we change our political system and allow candidates from every political party to debate and be an equal part of the election process, we will never say any true change.
they all suck

Like I have said to several people in the last week, out of the 280 million (or so) people that live in the country, are these the best four we can come up with? PRETTY DAMN SAD.

When we get a candidate with 666 at the beginning of their social security number, I'll consider that the most important election of our lifetime.
