Supposedly?? The late night talk show circuit....Leno, Letterman, Kimmel? SNL? The Today Show, Good Morning America?

I know the band was busy on tour and all that, but I'm curious to know if they were asked to appear on any of these shows this year? I know they cancelled an appearance on the CBS Morning Show which was booked...The only talk show they appeared on was of course, Ellen, back in May, before they went off to Europe. I was almost sure we'd probably see them again on something after the Ellen appearance, but that unfortunately never happened. It probably would have driven Revelation sales up even more, as a result.

Arnel is back home and the rest of the band is on vacation. Hopefully before the next tour they will work something out especially on Jimmy Kimmel.

I think almost everyone knows Arnel is taking his 4 months off. It's just seems like a shame that they're missing a lot of the momemtum they created this year. (yes, I know Arnel was sick). I think appearances next year will definately not have the same impact.

Now, that they have proven themselves to still be a force to be reckon with TV airplay should be following soon. Hopefully.

I wonder also if WalMart plans to have a big advertising push for Revelation for the holiday shopping season? Journey and especially AC/DC's Black Ice have done extremely well for them this year.

Have you seen the massive display at Wal Mart for the AC/DC CD?? The mens dept is covered with it, shit all over the place. The Eagles got a good bit of displays in the walkways. Now why did Journey just have their CD put in the rack??? Nothing else, not even special shirts made like AC/DC and The Eagles....

Minus Steve Perry I concur. That said, I don't think either The Eagles or AC/DC ever hit a peak like Journey did between 1981 and 1983. The Eagles obviously have a monstrous GH album, but it's been a slow, methodical seller through the years...much like Back In Black. Journey's height with Perry is a height neither of these bands has seen...and they're both tremendous bands. Again, both are above this Journey incarnation. So I agree with your point.

If they thought it would sell, they would have. No offense intended, but I think the "Walmart shopper" leans a little more towards the AC/DC genre than Journey. Not as "cool" to walk around in a Journey shirt as AC/DC. AC/DC kind of projects "I'm gonna kick your ass", while Journey projects a little more "sophisticated" (trying to be PC here) image.

I think that ship has sailed. Maybe they'll do a blue light special for $5.99 but I don't see why they would spend more advertising dollars on it. Most people seem more inclined to scoop up the remasters of Escape and Frontiers.

I understand that AC/DC is still wildly popular, but you'll never see them sell out 4 consecutive shows in Dallas like Journey did back in the day. And they don't have videos as cool as Separate Ways either.

AC/DC has a kick-ass song on rock radio. Journey had a 'make your panties wet' sappy ballad on AC radio. That's the real difference between the two and how they approach their markets.

Journey(past and present) play all kinds of pop/rock/ballads with virtuoso musicians and vocalists. The key word IS musicality.

I'd never compare AC/DC to Journey musically, I was just referring to which would sell more t shirts, especially in Walmart.

By the way, I've never listened to Journey to "think". I've got plenty of reasons to listen, that just ain't ever been one of them.

I don't think anything Journey has done compares to the opening of AC/DC Hells Bells. I will listen to Journey any day over AC/DC, but they each have their moments.

The bottom line is AC/DC markets to the 'cool' brand. Journey markets to people who would rather listen to AC then a rock station. That is the way it is today. Actually, that was alsy the way it was with ROR and TBF.

Can Journey 'rock'. I suppose...but that is not who Journey caters to nowadays.

As for the HOF. AC/DC is there and Journey isn't because AOR bands are not politicaly correct enough to be voted in.

AC DC is in the HOF because Back in Black has sold 42 million units. Numbers aren't everything but obviously people dig that album, including Journey who amped up the crowd with it before taking the stage this last tour.
