Firefest V - All the bands
I’ve been posting slideshows of the bands who appeared at this year’s Firefest in Nottingham as and when I’ve finished them, but I know a lot of you don’t frequent the MR Noticeboard so you may not have seen them.
If you have no interest in Firefest please ignore, but if you are interested here they are in their entirety in Billing order:-

Interesting Journey related facts (I’m sure there are more but these just sprang to mind)…
Steve Augeri left Tall Stories in the early 90’s to join Tyketto for a couple of albums, replacing their former singer Danny Vaughn, who is now back fronting Tyketto. Steve of course went on to join Journey. During the Firefest set, Steve sang one Journey song – Separate Ways.
Danny Vaughn supported Journey in the UK last year as a duet with Tony Marshall (who was also drafted into Tyketto for Firefest).
By all accounts it was JSS who got Danny the gig with Journey, as a favour returned from a few years earlier.
JSS of course went on to join Journey for a year or so. JSS did not play any Journey material at Firefest.
HEAT, a Swedish melodic rock band who’s average age is about 20, did play a Journey song (funnily enough, also Separate Ways). Loud and Clear, who were second band on stage on the Saturday also played a Journey song (fourteen bands later my brain is so muddled I can’t remember which one), juxtaposed with a Metallica song. It sounded great.
Although he was playing on the Sunday at Firefest, Steve Augeri turned up on the Saturday to renew a few acquaintances backstage and watch a few of the bands, including Tyketto, from the side of the stage.
