Would it surprise you, if I said I liked him.

I don't delve into anything other than what I hear on the radio, as I know it's split even those who love him and those who think he is a douche.

But I like his stuff... radio stuff anyway.

Yes.

Good god...

"Because I have sacrificed real life to be a celebrity and to give this art to people, which is great. It is great that I was able to do that, I'm not trying to shun that in any way, but it's definitely a Catch-22 and it's bittersweet."

Is it just me, or does this read like: "I am a total hero because I SACRIFICED my REAL LIFE, and that's just GREAT! You should all lick my taint. Where is the statue in my honor for sharing my ART?!"

He is outspoken and he would be a good voice, if half the things he said made any sense....
I thought this thread was about Tito..... :P

I remember after Katrina happened, I was watching some telethon deal. Never heard of him before that. They were appealing to people for red cross donations- this dbag yells "President Bush hates black people!" on live TV. While I'm not a Bush fan, I thought "what an idiotic thing to say at a time like this" and then I just heard him all over the place, not his music, just his mouth. "Voice of a generation", hardly, voice of a pampered rap star. He and Pdiddy... I can't stand either of them and wish they'd go away.

"Doesn't care" not "hates". My mistake, it was a few years ago.
Still, it was a ridiculous comment and the guy did nothing but try to divide. Not the time.
Now for this guy to say he's the voice of a generation. Puhlease.

That never gets old. But, I don't remember him being that stumbling during it. It still is a classic.

I had fogotten about the clip with Mike. He's an idiot. Thanks Brywool, for the second clip. He's high and dumb (What a combo).

Than last year he carries on because he doesn't get the award he thinks he deserves, so that is disrespectful of the recipient of the award. Now, this year he's complaining because he did get it? What the . . .

He has stupunkitis (stupid-punk-itis).

Kanye West opened for U2 a few years ago. We stood out in the hallway with the other 90% of the crowd drinking beer until he got finished. Not a good matchup. It was like the Black Eyed Peas opening for AC/DC.

Yep. It was only on four dates of their 2005 tour, and I apparently saw the first of them.

U2 - December 2005
4, 5 - Boston, MA - TD BankNorth Garden
7 - Hartford, CT - Hartford Civic Center
9 - Buffalo, NY - HSBC Arena
10 - Cleveland, OH - Gund Arena
12 - Charlotte, NC - New Charlotte Arena
14 - Saint Louis, MO - Savvis Center (w/ Kanye West)
15 - Omaha, NE - Qwest Center Omaha (w/ Kanye West)
17 - Salt Lake City, UT - Delta Center (w/ Kanye West)
19 - Portland, OR - Rose Garden Arena (w/ Kanye West)

All I heard (and felt) were subwoofers thumping from out in the hall.

Kanye West is to music what Michael Jordan was to basketball — at least that's what West thinks, in his humble estimation.

"I realize that my place and position in history is that I will go down as the voice of this generation, of this decade, I will be the loudest voice," he said in an interview on Wednesday. "It's me settling into that position of just really accepting that it's one thing to say you want to do it and it's another thing to really end up being like Michael Jordan."

Talk about conceited and delusional! What's he been smoking?

Just goes to show you politics and celebrity are not a good mix. Some celebrities are out of touch wack jobs, and they hurt more causes than they help.

I can't really voice an opinion as he is a complete non-entity to me. I couldn't tell you one song he sings/raps or if I heard one I'd never know it was him.

I guess I'm just an old fuck that don't give much a crap about rap or hip hop or whatever the heck he is.

I'd have to be paid to sit through either. Not a West, U2 or Bono fan. I don't care for people who use their fame as leverage. Their opinions are no more valid than those of anyone else.

I love U2. Rick, I think Bono does a lot of good in the world. I have to admit sometimes it's a bit too much and he just needs to be a rocker. And, apparently, he's received that criticism from his bandmates.

But I found it kind of odd here he is always studying Christianity and what it means and he's out on a boat with 19-year-olds. What man his age needs to call two 19-year-olds to hang out on their boat with he and his friend while he's on vacation? He's married with children. Seemed perverted to me.
