Underrated Journey Songs That Are Sadly Overlooked......
1.natural thing-this one was one that most probably really didn't know unless someone was a diehard fan or had the '45 don't stop with it on the b-side or maybe the time box set.one of the best songs i've known about from the beginning because it always puzzled my mother that while she wore out don't stop believen well i wore out the opposite side of the record.she never could figure out why i loved natural thing more than don't stop but i guess she played don't stop until i was wanting to hide the record, lol.then when i bought the time box 3 the day it was released of course well i played the damn song to death to where i don't play it as much as i used to.
2.dixie highway-i have always loved this song and wondered why they don't play it live because its a great song with a lot of energy.one of the best songs on captured.
3.people and places-i think this song is one of the most underrated ones on the departure album.
4.sweet and simple-i've often wondered if they ever played this live.its the best song on evolution to me.
5.still they ride-i think this one gets overlooked sometimes because there were so many great songs on the album this came from.
6.rubicon-i think this is one of the heaviest songs the band had and it closes out the frontiers album on a rocking note.
7.happy to give-to me this is the best song on raised on radio period.could've been a huge hit.
8.patiently-the one off infinity that often gets overlooked.
there you have it one song from each album in the 1978-1986 era.

I'm pretty reluctant to say that songs like Mother, Father, Still They Ride, and Patiently are "overlooked" songs in the sense that they've been on The Essential Journey comp and have been played live at least here and there... I do agree they aren't mentioned as much and that they are definitely great songs, but still... just my view

I played it to death, as well, LOL! ...But there was a time when this tune was my favourite JRNY tune ever.
3.people and places-i think this song is one of the most underrated ones on the departure album.
Absolutely
4.sweet and simple-i've often wondered if they ever played this live.its the best song on evolution to me.
Well... it's getting serious, here.
This IS, WAS and WILL BE the BEST JOURNEY SONG EVER!!! Period.
And BTW: another forgotten tune is "Something to hide", which is probably the greatest thing they did after "Sweet and simple"

Something to Hide, It's just the Rain, and Still She Cries, in that order.

Gotta second your pick of "Of a Lifetime, and add "Kiss Me Softly". Journey tried for a more contemporary sound on that one, so I give 'em credit for trying. It's a good tune.

I have played ALL the songs from Infinity-TBF to death. 2 songs not in the original released albums that I really like are Liberty and Natural Thing.

Hi Larry! I am a fan of EVERYthing SP ever did

. I came across OS on the Tron soundtrack and immediately liked it. But, later, when I got a hold of the Time3 cds and heard Liberty & NT, I had goosebumps listening to SP sing those 2 songs.

You're a mind reader! If I made a list of the same, it would exactly mirror this one.
