Our keyboardist is amazing at building sounds. He has a sampler as well, but most of the sounds he builds from scratch. And no click tracks, no fake keys, and NO FAKE VOCALS!!!!!

EVER!!!!!

Awesome man. Canned vocals sound nice to the audience and I can understand their usage in some situations. Rush for instance. Three piece and only Geddy CAN sing so... They at least trigger everything themselves for the most part which takes skill and since Geddy plays foot keyboards, sings and plays bass at the same time I can forgive him.

Hey Eclipse, any old recordings of you guys back in the day ?

We had video from a Cleveland show at The Odeon, but my stepkids taped over mine and I haven't been able to find another yet. I am worling on it, though.

I do have our old mp3 demo files somewhere. They were one take in the studio versions of Any Way You Want It and Open Arms.

Don't think that they did it on purpose. Who knows, maybe their mom (my ex) did it.

Just have to figure out the best place to post these mp3's. Youtube?

I'd zip them up and use www.yousendit.com Actually if you post them one at a time, you don't have to zip them.

We did a two song demo cassette so people could hear how Jason sounded so we could get gigs. I would have to guess late '92 or earl '93.

If you don't have any luck posting those, you can send them to me at shootemrick@yahoo.com and I'll upload them for you.

That was one take of all the instruments together (drummer was in a different room), one take lead guitar, one take of Jason'd lead vox, and 4 of us standing around 1 mic to sing the harmonies together. Very low budget. lol

This should be Open Arms. This keyboardist only did one gig with us. His replacement completed the lineup that was together for about the first two years.

Did Jason ever do any Rush covers? He could pass as Getty Lee OR Perry if he wanted to.

I don't think he has done any Geddy, although he is learning all or Peart's drum parts (he started as a drummer). If we were going to do Rush, George would sing it, since he was Geddy in 2112.

I feel like I am in a Supergroup or something. LMAO!

Glad you enjoyed it. We will update the MySpace demo for Eclipse and I may just put these two out there for Escape for now. I'd rather have video, but we need to pull together some footage first.

I am guessing late '92 or early '93.

I thought they were earlier. Dont get me wrong. He sounds great here but when I saw him live I guess starting in 94 he was even better. This is more his natural voice with a little Perry in it. When you listen to the loving you recording from 95 that I posted on here you can hear when I mean. Neat to hear him so early. His chops grew big time in a short time. I really hope to see you guys live..

Well, that is my best guess because my Christian metal band Catalyst broke up the year after releasing our CD, which was in 1990. I joined another band, which moved to Nashville when my first wife was pregnant, which was 1992. By the end of 1994 I was out of the band because I moved to Alabama briefly in 1995.

Yes, I continued to go hear Jason after I left the band, and he got more "Steve-ish" the more he sang. He turned into a pretty good front man, too (he was a little stiff at first). And now he continues to amaze me. And he doesn't even try. :D

Well I'm really glad he's decided to rejoin the band(s). He's got a great gift, it would be a shame not to let the world hear it.

LOL...I just went over to the Eclipse site and it says "Separate Ways...not Jason, Blue Collar Man...not Jason, Carry On...not Jason either." I got a good chuckle out of this.

Just wanted to be sure that you all realized that it's not him. I figured that was the best way (along with the disclaimer after his name).
