OT- Cell Phones

I realize that this is a funky question for a "Journey" forum...
I'm looking for a new cell phone for my kid, she's on Tmobile.
She has an archaic phone, so I'd like to get her something as close to the functionality of a iPhone as possible.

Are there any Tmobile folks here that have killer phones?
Not looking for a Blackberry.

Yeah, I know it's weird, it's a gift and I know NOBODY that knows phones.

Thanks fer your indulgence.

I've played with it but haven't bought it yet. The headphone jack is wacky so you have to buy a 10 dollar connector if you want o use your own headphones but no big deal. The screen is pretty and the phone feels solid. i love my curve but I think this one is next on my list. She'll love it, just make sure to get the headphone converter so she can pair it up with a good headset.

I just ditched my HTC Touch Pro because of thr quirky software and the touchscreen. If you happen to live in a colder area, a touch screen isn't a good idea. Mine didn't want to work outside. Go for something that also has a qwerty keyboard

Maybe try a G1?

seems like the Tmobile phones are really susceptible to temperature.
My daughters phone will just quit working in cold weather-the keypad just quits or sticks. Really annoying.

Not sure what that is. She's gotta pretty standard phone. Just doesn't work well at all. Half the time, when I call her, it doesn't ring (she's away at college) so that sucks.

Like T-Bone said, look at the G1 also. If you go for that one, tell them you want the newer SKU with the headphone microphone adapter included.
