Birds are very intelligent. Animals overall are very intelligent, even moreso then most San Franciscans for sure. I was never impressed with Coco the ape sign languaging though cause I'm sure all animals could do what Coco did, if they had fingers.

I don't care how smart they are - I detest them! We have lots hanging around here pretty much all year - they crap all over my deck, destroy the nests of the nice little birds, etc. And I swear they laugh at me when an errant paintball pellet or rock from my slingshot whizzes by them (I'm a lousy shot - actually I'm honestly not trying to hurt them, just scare 'em off  ).

Yeah, but they still have a place in the ecosystem.

Boy, I can't stand that guy. I'm not sure what he thinks he's doing when he prances around like that but he looks like what I would think a spastic colon would look like...and probably smells like one, too.

I had a wild crow befriend me.
He'd almost eat out of my hand.
Would follow me down the street
Stood outside my window & called when he wanted something
so I;d scramble him up an omelet or some leftover meat.
I figured I'd make his life a little easier.

That crow was protective over me.
Once he buzzed a new pool man...guess he wanted to tell him
keep your distance
She's mine!!!

Perfect pet
Didn't have to walk or clean up after it.
It would come to me because it wanted to.
Quite an honor!

Went on about 4 years but neighbors protested.
I finally let him go back to the wild about 5 years ago.
I don't even know if he is still alive though birds can live 10 to 15 years in the wild maybe less.
I first knew my crow in 1998 so it would be at least 10 years old at this time if still alive.

Sometimes I go out & stand on the corner & look to the sky hoping maybe he would be near & come to me
but I haven't seen him for many years.

Loved that bird!
Smart...heard perhaps the intelligence of a young child.

8)
